Quarter panel dimpling??

Has anyone had this problem before? Are there other posts about this issue I failed to locate?

Since new I have added the factory front strut brace, Eibach lowering springs and Eibach front/rear sway bars.

I noticed these right away as they are on the driver side rear quarter and were easily visible in the side mirror. I had just driven through another Florida highway construction zone when I noticed.

This has been mentioned/posted before. I have at least 7 or 8 on each 1/4 panels just as some others do.
On my summit white no one would notice them but me - very very small dimples right on top of the arch.
It may be from the factory or ??.

Most likely cause by build up or imperfection on the die used to form the rear quarter

This was common on the 4th gens. It seems to be where the welds are made and a crumple zone in case of an accident. Still shouldn't be there though

I have not noticed I will check. I do have one on my drivers side front fender, and I noticed two other Camaros with the same thing in the same place. I'll check my hips and get back to this thread. It's raining right now though...

Since you had your springs changed, it's possible somone was pushing down in these areas to check the suspension

I don't have any dimples....

I don't believe that is a factory defect, but some jouncing your car after a spring install is realistic.

It could happen by setting something on your car for a second to open the door too? O

Maybe it's from the car carriers or trains during delivery. The cars are tied down but still flex &/or try to bounce.
Just a thought- Again I have several on my car since new.

Not likely since I've owned mine for about 9 monthes already. The dimples appeared less than a month after upgrading to the Eibach springs and sway bars. I think I'm going to reduce the sway bar tension front and rear to avoid possible future dimples. The sway bars are currently at the stiffest setting.

I just ordered a 2012 black and after reading the problems with dimples I may cancel my order I am VERY FUSSY and do not find this acceptable. Would you have still ordered your car if you knew of this problem? Did you notice this from when you first got it or after driving it?

Ditto.
I was lucky to have my Camaro used as a display of PDR technique during
a Challenger rally. The PDR guy ironed out all the dimples on the FR Fender.

I was really impressed and went back later to have a Pine Cone inflicted dent in my roof removed.

No dimples on either of my quarters. I just have a slightly rippled area where the corner of the rear bumper cover meats the quarter. It's like this on both sides.

Just ordered 2012 BLACK after reading all the problems with dimples I am not to happy and considering cancelling my order. I feel Black will be more noticeable but reguardless of the color I feel this is unacceptable. When did you notice the dimples?

I noticed these while looking in my drivers side mirror on a sunny afternoon drive. On a black car it was very easy to notice. I'm leaning more toward these dimples being a by-product of suspension upgrades and poor road conditions but other posters have stated the same problem even with a stock suspension.
I've also got the rear quarter ripple where the front edge of the rear bumper meets the quarter panel; as mentioned above....too much torque applied at the factory or just thin sheet metal??

I have the same thing, but after stopping by my local dealership to check other camaros I noticed they all had this same effect to a certain extent. Just more noticeable on certain colors.

I never noticed them and then one day the seemed to jump out at me so my thinking is they developed after driving a while. I still would have ordered it. As mentioned it is an easy fix for a PDR tech. I have not had mine done as I have been doing a bit of fabrication in that area and figured I'd wait untill I was done.
