Rickerbucks, Heliwrench and I met with the Chally group last night. It didn't appear to be a lot of interest in joining us, so I would say it's un-likley to happen. There was a bit of disscusion in regards to the distance to be travelled and the group cruise. Just to clarify that issue as per Google maps:

Abbotsford Costco to Revelstoke 496 km 6 hrs 5 min

Calgary to Revelstoke 411 km = 5 hrs 28 min

Kamloops is pretty much in the middle for the BC group. Being that we will have to meet GTO, GreenXTC and Bangarang as they join the convoy in Kamloops, it would be a great place for a quick lunch before we make the final push into Revelstoke. So I still believe that which ever group get's to Revelstoke first should contunue on to meet the other group for a joint cruise into Revelstoke.

Suggest we meet up at Costco in Kamloops and everyone can pick an eatery on the section on Huge Allan Dr. Chevron is in that block too.There is also an excellent hand wash in that same block if you want to remove road bugs.

So what are we all thinking on a time and place to depart from Calgary on the Saturday for this first of hopefully what will become an annual cruise/meet and greet?

Also what about a place to stop for lunch, any ideas from anyone who has been out that way?

Now I am at work and thinking of food not a good thing.

I think we were talking about stopping at Three Valley Gap and wait for the Alberta group to arrive. Three Valley Gap is about 16 km west of Revelstoke with lots of parking and photo op spots. Then both groups can cruise into town together. Think we want to get the cruise out of the way on Saturday.

I was talking with Meltdown about dinner and we decided rather then doing a buffet we would just reserve a table in the restruant for the group and everybody could just order what they want.

So although logistics ws not my specialty in the Army I will see what I can come up with for timings so as not to keep our brothers and sisters waiting to long at Three Valley Gap.

I have sent an email to the host hotel about reserving a table once we firm up numbers

Talked with Brenda from the Hillcrest Hotel today in regards to dinner. We now have a reservation for 40 for dinner in the restraunt between 6 and 7. It will be a lot like herding cats, but I will try to get the BC crew to Three Valley Gap by 3pm.

Will that work for the Alberta crew? The hotel wll reserve a patio for drinks and appies prior to dinner if we want.
