Grind

I was gettin on my car today and hit second and got a bad grind my clutch was in rpms about six grand what could this be? Synchronizers?

Do a search on here for that problem and you'll find it is a fairly common problem. My car has no power train warranty left so I changed to Red Line D4 ATF fluid and it help with the fast shifting and 2nd gear grind. Not a cure all but it helped.

I did the same thing and with the D4 it is smoother. I also take about 0.5 second longer on the 1-2 shift and this also helps

You do realize GM doesn't manufacture the transmission right? It's Tremec's fault, not GM's.

This 100% is my experiance also. You can not slam the 1-2 shift at high RPM. Other then this my trans shifts perfect.

you do realize.....

GM approved of the design and manufacturing of a car that too often grinds into second gear. no notch. grind. no clink. grind.

GM has done little, if anything, to take ownership of the problem. in fact, in most cases... GM tells customers there's nothing wrong. it's natural. characteristic.

equally, if not more, complicit and culpable.

I just put the Red line D4 ATF in my car trying to get rid of the 2nd gear grind. Does it void the transmission warranty?

I doubt that it will void warranty. The D4 meets or exceeds the fluid specs from GM.
