Resonated-X or Tru-X?

I have the Solo axle back with J-pipes and LT headers with no cats on my L99. I still have the stock resonator but want my car to be louder. Which of the two will help that and if both which of the two will have the better sound?

Did it quiet it down, and will it help with drone?

Thanks,

Scott

I would assume the resonated X would still be louder than my big stock resonator, is that right?

Resonated x can reduce drone. I have it with the outlaw axelback 1400-2300 rpm. x pipe pipe killed it from 2000 on up, made the car more quiet and smoothen the tone. Reduced popping also to a nice level.Thats on a m6 so not sure what it would do on a A6.In my case though wish it was a little louder and more rumble now that the j pipes wiped out the drone.

I know the M6's mid section is completely different than A6 so I'm sure it would quiet it down. The A6 has these two huge resonators. I just don't want to get the Tru-X and it be too loud but it has to be louder than this with the stock resonator.

Hey Baron, on a side note, Im switching from the AMT to the outlaw catback afterall. Had some defects with the AMT so jegs is gonna take it back and send me the outlaw system. AMT was too quiet but didn't really notice any drone, we'll see what the new one does. I actually like the sound of being able to hear the exhaust while cruising though. And as far as the OP, from ones I've actually heard, the tru-x shouldn't be too loud for you.

Thats not good, but maybe a blessing in disguise! You are lucky in a way as you got to hear it and really know it was to quiet for you and what direction you want to take and not out to much $.Thing is it sounds so good in the vids, but of course from outside where we cant enjoy it! Seems you need a loud exhaust just to sound moderate from in the car.Mine sounds good but needs the throaty rumble to be notched up a bit. Maybe Solo cats in the future?

Also to the OP, also the tru x might not be as deep sounding but be more raspy and higher pitched? Resonated will muffle the sound as it is a muffler also, but might be deeper sounding as well. Seems catbacks with regular x pipes tend to be raspier and higher pitched depending on the mufflers they use, but thats just judging by videos.

Yea, I'm glad they let me swap it. AMT sounds good, just doesn't have any "bite" to it and it's too quiet. Had several people say it sounds just like stock.
