Blkenuf -- 2011 SS Build Thread

Here is my contribution to the community. I've been debating on creating one of these for a while so here goes.....

December 30, 2012 I got my 2011 2SS. Had about 9k miles and only mods were red bowtie overlays and tinted corner lights.

Here is the starting look.......

Love your ride man... Looks sick
Did you use a tint kit for the OEM front lights ?
And what kit did you used for the red rings ?
Thank you.

Long trip from point A to point B but my mission was to get rid of anything that wasn't black.

I started with removing all of the bowties and replacing them with plasti-dipped black heritage style SS logos on the front and back.

Thanks man. I got my light tints from lamin-x. They are all pre cut and super easy to install.

I have the Night Owl RGB kit for the halos. Also have a RGB strip in the grille and underbody RGB strips that you can't really see in the pics. I have some night pics and a vid I will post in a bit.

Then the taillight bezels had to go. Flat black ones were pretty cheap so I went ahead and replaced them instead of painting/plasti-dipping them.

(Car was filthy that day)

Someone here added LEDs to the hex vents. It was far too sweet not to copy so I added red ones to mine.

Next the ebay "SLP" splitter was added. (I did a crappy plasti-dip job the first time. It's been redone since then.) Also swapped out the DRL bulbs to super white LEDs

Here is the one I have

I am considering changing it though. The new ones have more dynamic color changing options. Now that I have the NightOwl kit, I think I would like it to match the halos and underbody lights more.

Here is video of the NightOwl system at night. You can see the underbody lights well.

They complete the ground effect look on the rear of the car behind the rear tires. A nice alternative to the ZL1 diffuser as it doesn't force you to have to switch to dual tip exhausts. Its also cheaper and doesn't require any cutting and very little drilling to install.

I will get some pics of mine this afternoon too.

As promised. Here is my latest mod. ZL1 conversion with mailslot.

This pic kind of shows the rear extensions. I should've got a closer one though.

Been a while since I updated this........

With everything outside the black, I've moved to the interior.

Got the door panels and dash panels wrapped in gloss black vinyl and swapped out the shift knob to a black one. Also dyed the stitching on the seats, steering wheel and door panels black.

Pics aren't great but.........
