IS THIS A REALISTIC OFFER???

2012 Chevrolet LT1 6 Speed Manual, Black, Northern NJ Buyer
MSRP
$25,200.00
RS Package
$1,675.00
Moonroof
$900.00
Destination
$900.00
MSRP
$28,675.00
Discount
$1,500.00
MY PRICE
$27,175.00

Where should I start as a first offer? Not a great haggler

I been looking for a while, about 2 months ago this was the price TRUE car was offering at a local dealer. It has gone up , could it be that spring is coming and they are now more in demand

Also why are 1LT's so hard to find? I have visited like 5 dealers, usally have a ton of LS and LT2 and SS's

ALL SUGGESTIONS ARE GREATLY APPRECIATED

Dealers are less likely to give on their price as the weather gets warmer. My car salesman buddy told me the worst time to buy a sports car, like the Camaro, is in the spring/early summer, and the worst time to sell one is late summer/fall. It's all about demand and the demand goes up when the weather is nice..

keep in mind there will probably be another $2000 in additional charges on top to that 27175. you'll have processing fee, taxes and stuff like that. how much will depend on the state. I've never lived in NJ, but I'd bet it will be on the higer end of the range.

as for finding a 1LT, if you really want one, pick a dealer and let them find it for you. they'll locate one at a dealership somewhere and trade a vehicle of theirs for it.

I too had a hard time finding a 1Lt, but when |I went out and bought mine I ended up visiting three different dealers and finally found just the one I wanted, they are out there.
I also found that if you go to TrueCar.com and build your car there they will give you a good no haggle price and all you gotta do is print it up and take it to the participating dealers that they will print out for you as well.

Also why are 1LT's so hard to find?

Same reason 1SS's are, most people order the 2LT or 2SS, so more of those get built.

Paul SS is right on here. Most people would opt for the "2" package upgrade. If people were looking for a V6 without leather, they'd likely just get the LS.

A 1LT is a tough sell. A 1SS is a little easier as its for the budget minded gear head who wants the V8 and that's all.

I had a 2007 LS2 - 1LT C6 corvette... It was great. 400hp, M6... $37,000 after my GMS and other rebates at the time. Buy sports cars in the winter! Had 12 miles on the odometer when I took it home. WIN!

I had a hard time finding my car when i bought it. (early august) There were no 2lts left in a 50 mile radius except mine OR wait for the 12 (had i known it had 10 more horse and the 45th i probably would have waited). I would say august/sept is the best time to buy a car. They want to push the left over older model year and i knew that so i got a great deal on mine. The dealer i went to had a 1ss next to my car that i test drove, i loved it but it just had nothing in it. it was basically an ls with a v8 6 spd and black. I didnt want black otherwise i would have settled for less options to get a v8.

keep looking tho, they are out there!

maybe its a geographical thing. when I got mine last year, there were 3 other SGM 1lts at just 2 dealers. mine was the only manual. Al least 1/2 dozen more of all colors at other dealers.

You can also go to Chevrolet.com and do a locate yourself. Just input multiple zip codes within a couple hundred miles of your location and see window stickers of cars at the various dealerships.

Sometimes when a dealer wants a particular car that another dealer has they will refuse to swap cars for various reasons.

There are several websites that will give you tips, but the basic concept is to get them to sell close to invoice price. I used Edmunds.com. Then select your trim, add options, and you should have a ballpark starting point.

I ordered mine because I had a heck of a time finding a 1LT with only the few options I wanted. They couldn't locate one within 500 miles with a sunroof and without the RS.

They started just above invoice, but I had a target price and we were within a few hundred dollars, so they actually agreed to go slightly below invoice supposedly to keep market share.
