From Convertible to Coupe - Why is the sound so weak?

I just swapped from a 2011 2LT Convertible to a 2011 2SS Coupe. I now realize the bass is much weaker in the coupe and I notice more distortion at higher volume than I did in my convertible even though they both have the Boston Acoustics system. Any thoughts?

What you are hearing and feeling is the difference between having a subwoofer and not having a subwoofer. Your not going to get that kind of bass without a sub.

I'm amazed at the stuff I miss. I had no idea one model had a sub and the other didn't. If anything I figured the vert's audio would have had to compromise due to space requirements but that's what I get for assuming.

Is there a relatively easy/inexpensive way to add a sub to the stock system? I'll research it tomorrow but if you know please let me know.

Easiest way is probably to buy a sub, box, amp, inline fuse, power/ground cable, and then buy the X3 harness from ********. Wire up your amp, sub, plug the X3 into your factory harness next to your factory amp, run the rca's to your amp, attach the remote wire, and you got bass.

Nothing about that sounds easy...lol. The easiest thing would be to find a audio shop and drop your car off for a few hours.

Crap, it's a $1,000 option that my new car doesn't have.

Didn't know the convertibles had a sub either. Is this the same sub box they sell as a 1k option for the coupe or something different?
Anybody got pics?

Thanks for the pics. I wonder how the sound is, like how deep the bass is from that one sub. Is that an open air sub? Like the 6x9's. How sturdy is that, what looks like a rubber mat that the speaker is attached too. I'll prob take a trip to my dealer to take a listen.

I'm sure it won't be as good as my box with 2 larger subs and better amp, but it may be good enough and I can reclaim some trunk space. But not for 875. How do they even justify that price for one speaker.

When you travel faster than the speed of sound, the sound has to catch up. So when you stop you hear it all at once this the 'Sonic Boom'.
