I can see a lot of ZL1 guys getting mad if their 2012 ZL1 turns out to be a 2013 ZL1.

Thanks, great find! I have been thinking of the possibility of being bumped into 2013. Disappointed if it happens, but I will survive.

I read that. I meant that ones that haven't been built yet. The ones that owners ordered a 2012, but get a 2013 because their car wasn't built by the delay.

If it gets bumped up to a 2013, it will have to directly start competing with the lighter 650HP 2013 Shelby GT500...Its not going to be pretty for the Camaro

I could care less if they call mine a 2012, 2013, 1978 or whatever as long as I see it sometime this year. I would like to be able to drive it some before winter. I guess this truly is 2009 all over again. I don't really see why a 2012 will be worth anymore than a 2013 low build numbers or not. It's not like they are going to take HP out of the 2013 or somehow make it perform less are they?

I am patient. I ordered a 2012. I want a 2012. Sitting at 3000 since 1/31. I would be disappointed if it wasn't a 2012 and it might even cause me to change my mind. I FULLY support the hold and understand it. I think a little more communication through my dealer to me would be better. Whatever this it is must affect every car.

Wow. So it's looking like a real possibility we could see around 500 2012 ZL1s? If that's the case, they should stop at VIN# 580. That'd be cool for a 580HP car. Trying to make it to VIN# 1969 might really be a stretch for the 2012 model now.

I completly agree. I just want the car.

I felt all along that if they mass produce in 2013 the people thinking 2012 will be worth more are dreaming. go price a 2006 Z06 and tell me how much more it is worth than a 2007. ohh wait it isn't. why becasue they are basically the same car only ones newer.

I hope it turns out that way but there usually has to be something special aobut the car to make it worth more. everthing I read is 2012 and 2013 will be the same car.

the main reason I wanted a 2012 is I though it would be hear months before a 2013.

Well if they only make 580 copies, I could see it being worth some money down the road Now of course you will have to keep it in mint condition and have low miles and oh yeah live 50 more years

I wouldn't accept a 2013. If I can't get a 2012, I would then wait till 2015.

Oh, and nobody will know right now about collectability. Only time will tell. For people who are into firsts of things they will be for sure. If 13's are equipped the same as 12, then the 12's will be worth more than the 13's though.

My opinion is also that limited numbers alone if the next year is exactly the same will not create value. But if something significant changes like 2013s not having sequential VINs or maybe a different hood then who knows..

If you have a VIN# before 150 (like me ) you will get a 2012 model. Godd to know my 1st ever ordered car will likely be more collectable down the road he said the wait is "weeks" not "months" ...so hopefully by April bro.

I understand there is a problem and glad they cought it before any Zs were delivered. BUT! If dealers and GM has accepted orders for a customer as a 2012 model then that is what the customer should get weather it takes long after the cut off in May or not. I ordered a 12 and expect a 12.
