Exhaust choice: Frozen by indecision

There are too many exhaut options out there..

For starters, I have a standard V8 SS convertible..I was looking for a deep, throaty kind of sound..

Also would like cat-back with the plan to eventually get LT headers and possible HF cat..

Thought of borla, corsa, or flowmaster..Just having trouble pulling the trigger.

Were all going to back our choice brand so I say go with Solo Performance. Otherwise I like the Flowmaster Outlaw or for a more pricey exhaust, the Borla Atak.

Solo Performance cat back and you won't have to look back.

Exhausts sound completely different with or without LT headers.

If you can hear the setup you're thinking about in person that would be the best.

IMO if you think you're going to get LTs pretty soon then you should probably look at doing a cheap muffler delete to get you by. Then save your money and get the LT/cat-back combo at the same time. Muffler delete is cheap and worst case if you don't like it you're not out much money. You also don't want to buy a cat-back that sounds okay with OEM headers then to change to LTs and not like the sound.

There are only two options in life. Fight or flight. Most people run. Almost all people run. But not us. The difference between us and everyone else is that we run towards the gunfire. And that makes all the difference.

I say start slow. Like someone else here said, if you can personally hear what you like, go for it. I will add this...........If you know you will definately get long tubes, then wait till you get them. Long tubes (w/cats) on the stock system sounds pretty damn throaty. LT's and no cats gets kinda respy. Second of all, look under you car at the exhaust. Tell me what you see. I think you will see a simple non restrictive 2.5" exhaust system. Dont waste money on a cat back that will look exactly like what you are taking off. If you want to change the sound, simply replace the stock mufflers with what you want. You'll save money and it will sound the same.

SLP loudmouth 1 axle back..

I ride with a lot of camaro's all compliment my SLP exhaust. Deff worth it!! Not to loud but deff the deep throaty sound. And If your wanting it louder. You can always just bolt on a x pipe or even a pair of long tube headers by SLP.

What kind of sound are you looking for? Loud and aggressive? Deep but subtle? High pitched and whiney? I'd look at JBA's competition setup. I've got their axle back and couldn't be happier. Loud, mean and has that "I will eat your children if you don't move" sound. Plus, it's hard to beat the $$$.

We have a nice sticky with TONS of YT vids of exhaust clips. While they aren't always the best in terms of quality, but you'll get the idea.
