Post Camaro Controvertible Tops Only Gallery

If one picture is worth a thousand words lets see if we can give GM at least a million of em. Please easy on opinions, endorsements, rants, ideas, just post up the best photos of your tops... good, bad or indifferent and let the photos do the talking.

i voted unsatisfied- because i have owned and presently owned german convertibles
(my present one for over 22 yrs) and the tops have looked and worked flawlessly- so we all know that the technology is here- and has been around for years- this is not rocket science GM

I chose not satisfied, as my top has similiar problems, and all I can find is horror stories about having it replaced.

I chose not satisfied. Pics I will post will be of the original top and replacement.
The first 2 are the original top. The second 3 are the replacement. The second one literally fell apart when I put it down at the dealership back in February. Came apart behind the rear window.

Wow,
I am amazed at what I have seen on this forum. Let me explain,
I purchased a brand new 2011 triple black SS 2 convertible from my Chevy Dealer in Fairfield Connecticut. I drove 4- 2012's and 2- 2011's (All Factory New) before picking the one I wanted. I picked my car up the day after Christmas, I bought this car after extensive research and many test drives with several Connecticut dealers. It is not my every day vehicle more for weekends and summer time to relive my youth. Here in Ct we have had a mild winter where I have had my top down at least 12 times. No wrinkles,
no leaks, no marks or wearing anywhere. After viewing the pictures of other convertibles I feel so bad for other owners.

Thanks for the heads up

Gio

I wasn't sure how to respond. I was completely unsatisfied with my 2011 so I based my answer on that.
After GM buyback and delivery of my 2012 I would have to say mostly sastisfied.

*knocking on wood*

Apart from rub marks and some wrinkling, I would say I'm mostly satisfied with mine.

I concur. If you have a good top. Please post pics of it, model year, and day it was built. It should be an interesting comparison

Definitely good points / suggestions which I'll gladly try to help with. I'll try to upload some pics or even a video in a few hours from my iPhone. I'm also interested in seeing some stats on build dates / trim / types of issues.

I have only had mine for a week. So it still looks good. I can post pictures later. Are these issues impacting the 2012's too?

I wonder why it is so hard to get photos of the tops that people are satisfied with?! Members on this site are NOT shy about taking pictures of their cars.

Baba, your photos are way over compressed. But hey at least you are trying!

What gives?

Pssst...I'm going to let you in on a little secret...NO ONE has a top they're satisfied with. Those of us who say we do, well...it's a bold-faced lie because we're unable to face the horrible truth that, in fact, we don't...SSsshhhh... joking, of course.

I was concerned about size upload limits. I'll take these down and upload some larger, better quality pics up this evening.

Looks good. My car's in the shop now so I can't make any comparisons, but I'm having a hard time making that first pic out. You mind describing? Looks like some fantastic DIY work to prevent rub marks.

Looks like your fix is working for the rubmarks...

There is that classic wave happening over the drivers door though.

Yeah what is with that f'ing wave? Though i'll take the wave if they can fix the rubmarks. Looks like babaron used a bit of foam and painters tape.

I'm bringing mine in for an oil change and another look at the marks tomorrow. I'm on my 3rd roof and this latest one is straight off of a 2012 they had on the lot.

I voted "Very Satisfied".

These are slightly resized pics from yesterday and today - uncompressed.

The wrinkles above the doors are somewhat visible. I also included a pic of where the top meets the frame above the trunk. Some of the gaps I've seen on pics other owners have posted are frightening - literally. My baby is also "water tight".

So they are some nice looking tops out there! makes me all the more upset with the condition of mine. This car sat on the showroom floor for at least three months with the top down, sure that causes all the deep side wrinkles.

Any more top photos?

today was my day for a trip to the dealership for the "rub" marks on the top.
I buy a car every 21/2 years there, so I know them and they know me by first name.
The manager looked at it and did acknowledged there were marks on it (after a very long inspection - which I can't blame him). They have to have a regional manager take a look before any action. They funny part was, when I asked - have you seen this before - and they said NO? They have sold a dozen vert's and no one else has a problem? I'm hoping for the best - they fix it permantly. Beside the car I'm into it for allot of $$$$$ and don't want the buy back. Post more info as it develops.
