No that's not true. Tell them to look it up there is a bulitien on it and also like my case at first I was one of the first over year ago. Second one was later in production and gm had updated bulitien to not only replace it but also drain all fluids and change filters. Be forewarned the part is usually on 5 to 7 day back order even though gm will tell them your part ill be coming nxt day on the gm truck from another dealer. I had the issue. Pm me ill explain what my awesome dealer Dimmitt Chevy did for me.

Took mine back in. Went for a test drive. The second shutter is not the torque converter I had replaced. It is the car. I also has the car almost stall at a red light and they said it was the gas oxygen mix being changed. The rattle noise is some shift kit that is coming. So in 8300 miles, the torque converter has been replaced and there is another bulliten for this shifter kit. Amazing. Satisfied I guess until the next issue happens.

You can always get another one when they figure out how to build them right...someday.

I had originally posted my concerns in this thread: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...161698&page=12
but my issues seem to be not isolated to the 30-40 or 40-50 range. It seems to be when shifting, like cruising at near 60, letting off the throttle for a bit and when I get back on it I feel the shudder. I took it into the dealership today. The complaint was officially written up as "Customer state when driving and slowing on acceleration feels like running over rumble strips" and the response after diagnosis was "test drive 7 miles isolated noise to aftermarket exhaust." They told me that the tech replicated my concern while driving and them put it up on the lift while another tech was inside the car to accelerate it. I'm not sure if it was in drive or not, although I don't think that anyone would put a car in drive and let the wheels spin while on a 4 point lift. Also, they stated "isolated noise" when it wasn't a noise I had a problem with; it was a stutter/shudder feel. So in the end they are blaming my MRT V2.0 aftermarket exhaust for the shudder which was installed according to MRT directions. I'm so confused at this point. If it was the exhaust, what could have gone wrong. It was installed in early September and nothing was noticed with car shudder until 3 weeks ago. I feel like taking it to another dealer at this point. Help!

My 2011 Chevy Camaro SS V8 is having these vibration issues about 30-35mph. Called today and the guy said it sounded as if it was the torque converter on it! It is an automatic. Its felt funny for awhile, but getting used to the car and I kept telling my husband its not suppose to sound this way. So will update you all tomorrow on what they come up with. Its sad when a V8 with this horsepower to lag around 30 and not pick up speed unless you floor it.... Not suppose to happen.....
I just noticed that majority are V6's.... guess I will be the first V8 with same issue.

Could it be the active fuel management kicking in and out? In other words switching from 8 to 4 cylinders and back to 8.

Anyone know if it affects the 2013's too? Or did they change the TC between years?

I am thinking more towards torque converter since that is a major issue obviously with the Camaro's. The guy in the service dept brought it up. We'll see tomorrow.

I was just wondering because I had not seen any threads about that V8 autos having problems. Good luck.

Thanks! Yeah he said that he hadn't seen any V8's but sounded just like what is happening with the V6's. Alls I know is it is slowly getting worse and more noticeable. It doesn't have but 4800 miles on it. Wish my husband would have kept our V6 6-speed, it worked great, but according to him not enough power! So we ended up with this V8 Automatic-probably money pit. After reading about so many having same issues, its our luck to get yet another GM lemon, lets see this makes about 4 so far from GM. I try to talk him out of chevy but he goes back.

Took my Camaro back today and the service dept sent the transmission specialist to ride with me. The stuttering ocurred and he "felt" it in the 30mph range. I told him it did seem to happen at higher speeds, but he didn't need any more proof. He did state that it was indiciative of a torque converter going bad but had not replaced one in a Camaro. I handed him the bulletin and he was going to do some research on the issue and give me a call. He was very backed up so it might be a week before they can get it back in the shop. I hope they can soon.
