i polished my gm strut brace

Just got my new gm strut brace, after sanding my fingerprints off i tried to buff it with my mini buffer. it worked ok but i'm a perfectionist and it wasnt shiny enough for me. so i ran out to my local harbor frieght tools shop and bought a bench buffer. heres the results so far.

ok heres the finished product after a little more buffing. i didnt bolt it into the car but i laid it in the spot so you guys could see what it will look like. i dont want to bolt it in yet because i'll be installing my cam next week and will just have to take it out again. the pic of the strut tower is to show you the three bolt holes your car needs in order to install this brace. I think it came out great, i'm very happy with it.

Looks great. So shiny you could shave in it. Are you going to leave the ends aluminum? Might look good if ends matched strut towers then clear coat all to protect your hard work.

Very nice...definitely clear coat it. Do you know what the price is on the brace? Will get my new 2012 next week and that will be one of my first after purchase mods.

That looks great. I polished my any exhaust but it did not look like that I only wet sanded to 2500 grit. Is the brace stainless?

Nice Job .... I have polished many many aluminum frame motorcycles if I could give 2 pieces of advice.... Clear coat it or powdercoat it a transparent color( ie Blue) and you will protect it and make it pop. Also for those looking to polish be cognizant of any welds and do not sand down or run them smooth you will weaken the structure.

I wish they made one that fits with my SC setup......

It came out really good but like i said earlier i'm a perfectionist and it does still have a very slight buffing haze to it any suggestions on how to get that cleaned up? also what kind of clear are you guys using for this kind of job? is there some kind of bonding agent i need to spray first before clear? wont the clear fish eye if i try to spray directly on the polished metal? I've painted cars for many years so i know what i'm doing your not talking to a novice, i 've just never clear coat bare metal.
