How is that possible? Dealers aren't allowed to submit orders for 2013 Camaros until May 10th. It's also possible that the 1LE will be on constraint for a few months.

Anyways, I might be able to swing around $45k so we'll see.
I was there looking at that car also. Prior to that they had a gm owned v6 that was there and they threw me the keys. I think the vin was in the 200s.
Bought a impala from them and they got the lowest interst rate and the car was $1000 cheaper than Hendricks plus I got leather.
My next Chevy will be from them. I was at cars and coffee in mt. Pleasant several months ago and A guy showed up in a 2012 slp 575 car that he ordered from Marchant and they only charged him $98 over invoice.

I am willing to bet that the hood wrap has paint underneath. They are doing the wrap to keep production cost down. Easier to wrap a standard SS hood than to pull it mid production. And all of the stripes get completed post production so it makes sense to ake a completed car and just do a wrap. Much like they do the stripes.

Pricing is not released, but I am figuring an MSRP of under $41000 and a $1000 GM card allowance, so it will end up under $40000.

That is not quite correct. The first consensus cycle begins May 10, but orders can be submitted before that. That I ordered today started out as a test to see if the 1LE would be possible to order or if it would be rejected, but it went through so I decided to stick with it. This is not a guarantee that the 1LE package will be built right away, but it is a good sign that it might be.

See this thread for more on ordering a 2013...

I'm sure you will pay less than $40,000 with the card allowance, but I think your car will "sticker" just under $42,000.

Not to beat a dead horse, but I wish Chevy would offer some kind of extra cost package that would take 100-150 lbs off the car. Whether its hood, trunk, doors, whatever. I don't want to see sound insulation removed because I don't like noisy cars, but if there was something that they could do that was optional. Even if it cost $2500-4000 there would be a market for this.

if your willing to spend that it's probably better to go aftermarket. BTW the hood is already light weight.

I thought you could already take off 150 lbs with different seats??

Sounds nice but the problem is that 100-150 less lbs. wouldn't be noticeable to anyone really and would only make a negligible performance difference. I like that the 1LE gives the enthusiasts what we've been asking for: shorter gears, a short-throw, wider & better tires, and a stiffer suspension.

I have a strong feeling that this 1LE package will close in on $50,000 easily and with every available option it will probably go north of that. If that's the case I don't think its worth the money when you will be basically in ZL1 territory. Not to mention there isn't any engine upgrade and I have a bad feeling that when they put this car up against the Boss Mustang it's not going to be a good showing. If that happens it will probably kill the demand for this car.

I'm guessing a $3000 option, I just don't see a lot of extra cost in this car over the standard SS. Whatever the track pack on the Mustang costs, that will be a REAL good indicator.

I wish. That would make a lot of sense. The mustang track package is $2500. I am hearing that 1LE package is going to be more like a $7000 option instead of a $3000 option. It looks like it is meant to compete with the Boss 302, but priced under $40K instead of over $40K for the boss. Doesn't have engine upgrades like a boss though.

The wheels on the 1LE (ZL1 wheels) will probably be a pretty good chunk of change all by themselves.

I think it will be about $36995 for a 1LE on a 1SS. That makes it about a $4k option.

$4K would be reasonable considering you get more than with a track pack on a mustang. $7K would be steep IMO. But pricing has not been released so it is all speculation at this point.

1LE is trans upgrade, rear upgrade, ....... it will be 5k minimum. i think

It has braking, cooling, gearing, and suspension upgrades. That and all new mustangs now come with track apps. The 1LE gets a transmission with additional cooling. What other ways is the transmission beefed up and why does it cost that much more over the already available tremec.

track apps is premium mustang, not all.

the ..... was in place for additional goodies that come with the 1LE. The track package really doesn't add much. the camaro also already has the brembos front and rear.

there's a whole lot more in the "1LE" package then there is in the mustang track package. The trans is a beefed up tremec.

It would be noticeable. Especially if you take the weight off 1 area of the car.
Drive a SS Camaro then drive one with a Maggie on it, 100-150 lbs over the front wheels is very noticeable.

Right..the track pack on the mustang is only $2500. $3500 for 1 LE would be $1K more. $4000 would be $1500 more. $7K for the package would be really steep.

Boss 302 is a GT with boss package much like the 1LE is a Camaro with that package. Boss starting at 42k? 1LE being stated as below 40k, so that means 39,900 putting the 1LE package about 6kish ?

I would bet money on the 2SS/1LE with standard colors, nav, and npp coming in right at $45k. Npp for the 'vette is ~$1300 and nav is usually around ~$1500. RS will push it to the $46k range.

That puts it close to Boss pricing which would be a good fit. Although you get a little more comfort and little less Hp. I still think the EPS will free up enough power to help balance that argument. A 1SS/1LE would be about $3k less.

If it's 3K less that does not sound like a good deal to me. You think a transmission and some suspension mods and other things is worth $6-7K as a package, but it's a great deal to be only $3K less than a boss which has a stronger forged motor and more hp? I would gladly pay $3K more for forged internals and more hp.

I'm thinking along the same lines. A fully loaded 2SS will hit $40,000 easily so for the 1LE add about 6 to 7 grand and lets not forget the dealer mark up for it being a somewhat "special" model and you're looking at $50,000. Now if you're going off of a 1SS then I can see $39,999. What no one is talking about is how will this car perform next to a boss. That matchup will make or break this car.

I didn't mean $3k less than a boss, i meant a 1SS/1LE will be $3k less than the 2Ss/1LE. I have never priced a Boss exactly, just know they are around mid $40s depending on options. As for the stronger motor and additional Hp, I can see the stronger motor but like i said, the EPS should free a few ponies to narrow the gap. We all know headers and a tune and there is plenty of power from the LS3. and since its about cornering not drag racing, power isn't everything(although its nice to have and very important). I think (interpreted as hope) the chasis improvements will make up the gap in potential straight line performance.
