I just recieved a call from my dealer that my 2SS/RS, SIM #480 is here! Unfortunately the passenger side mirror was damaged in transport and will have to be replaced. I think there was a thread sometime back about this very issue with the mirrors. Im on the way out the door.

The thread you're thinking of might be one where someone's dealer said the car couldn't be loaded on a standard car carrier because the mirrors don't fold in. That one was wrong, evidenced by numerous photos posted and considering the width of other vehicles that are delivered often enough...

Anyway, sounds like just a common mistake, probably the guy loading it was so excited he didn't pay enough attention.

I wish I was getting a Camaro...you lucky bastard!

OH MY GOD!!! The mirrors broke?? Was it from driving it over 155 mph? This is rediculous! I can't beleive GM wouldn't test this!!!!
(Just kidding/ making fun of the freak out du jour yesterday)

In all seriousness, congrats man, be sure to throw some pics on when you get the time. I understand if it takes a day or 2, cause there's no way I'll be in front of the computer for a few days after I get mine.

Congrats!!! You know the only reason they said that the mirror was damaged was because they wanted to buy some time so that they could joy ride in your car right?

Sorry, don't mean to be a hater, but damn you!!! I want my car!!!

Just kiddin, enjoy your ride!!!

Pictures

Here are a few pics. I spent too much time driving to take alot of pics. You'll have seen most pics anyway. I have thrown in a pic of the lovely duct tape. Seems somewhere in the delivery process the mirror was damaged and is to be replaced thursday.
The car is great!! I could copy all of the previous glowing right ups and paste them here.
It is amazing the number of people who want to see the car. I even had middle schools at my kids school commenting on the car. Even one of the moms recongized the car and came over to look at it!

a FL car- right on! Sorry about the mirror- sucks..makes it feel like the old jap cars in the 80's where the other mirror was optional lol...okay so it doesn't remind me of an 80's jap car at all, but you get the point
