Depends on your meaning of major cost. The cheapest way to add power to a stock SS is going to be Long tube headers, exhaust, cai & tune but, your warranty will most likely be shot with the tune.

Muffler delete will make you think you added 30hp.

I'm pretty sure some cool stickers on your car will add 50-100 horsepower!

Forget the party noise makers mods. They're not cheap and do little if anything for actual performance gains. First to do.......Ported and polished throttle body..................next a CAI.

I would say a cold air intake is almost a given. Relatively inexpensive, and reasonable gains. If you want major HP, you're gonna have to spend some $$. Do you have auto? If so, a tune is a must. Warranty will be gone, but fun factor goes way up.

No mods are cheap. You gotta pay to play.

The only thing the TB is going to do is add what 1~2HP and clean up a little lag when you hit the throttle. This is the least beneficial performance mod you can add of most any listed here. Yes i have one.

You want real gains without cracking into it. Then LT's and a tune. These 2 items alone will add solid power and torque.

Unless a half second lag is terribly bothersome this mod would be last on my list of performance mods right out of the gate.

Add stripes and that's a 50 hp boost. Just ask any Mustang owner.

I have a 2010 SS 6 speed, I've done the kooks long tube headers, and the k and n cai but have not tuned, my question is how much horse power gain can I see with a tune and I've been seeing this g force chip claiming 30 to 60 horse power gains, how true is this has anyone tried one of these chips and again how much would a tune add, other then spending 9,000 on a super charger how else can I get good horse power gains for 5 grand or less...
Thanks for any info

First thing, our car's do not have a chip in them. I wished that crap would go away. LT's, CAI and a good tune should get you around 35-40hp. That's a solid gain in my book. Get a tune on your car and see how you like it then. The rest is gonna cost $$$$.

cai->longtubes->cam->head work by west coast heads->tune=happy face

you will crush the competition....dont forget suspension stuff mixed in, not as sexy but will make you faster just the same. bushings bushings bushings sways. then lightweight wheels and actual performance tires

Other than nitrous if anyone has the answer to the main title of this thread let me and the rest of us know. As it stands now there is no cheap and reliable way to make this car alot faster. If you want to go fast and be reliable its going to cost money. Remember you can only pick 2 of the three choices. Fast, reliable, cheap
