2013 1LE with 7000 rpm Redline....

Did anyone else notice from the brochure that the 1LE comes with a higher 7000 rpm limit with an 8000 rpm tach as compared to the SS's 6600 rpm limit. I think the Camaro performance team is true to their word of "We Are Never Done" when it comes to giving us more of a performance bargain and of course" Perma Grin".

Updated: Close-up of tach shown

Updated again: Fbodfather said it was an artist rendering not an actual photo.

The 2010 has a 9K rpm tach, and this picture certainly looks like it's showing some red prior to 7K.

If you blow up the pic you can clearly see it does not show red before 7000 rpm, I wish that I could post a bigger pic of this.

I'm betting it's the same LS3 that we've had in these cars for 3 years now.

Could it be an LS3 without torque management due to the upgraded track rated transmission and axles on the 1LE.

The LS3 stock camshaft and valvetrain set up experiences valve float at 6800-6900 rpm. On top of that it peaks at around 5900rpm.

A rev limiter of 7000 on the same LS3 engine (if that is what they are using) would show little benefit and cause reliability issues.

If it is the standard LS3 I highly doubt the redline will be 7000rpm.

Also looks to be a "D" on the screen but M6 is all that's offered. I wouldn't believe it...

Torque management isn't going to alter the rev limiter.

Generally speaking, the Camaro won't get the new engine first...when the GTO got the LS2 the same year as the C6, that was about as close as you'd get to something else beating the Vette to the new engine. Base vette's don't have anything newer than the LS3 yet, so the Camaro 1LE SS won't either.

It'd be way cooler if it was a REAL 1LE...big brakes, big swaybars, crank windows, radio and AC delete, less sound insulation...a REAL 1LE.

That I already knew, what I was thinking of was in regards of the increased track performance overall as compared to the SS, not the redline.
