Acrylic inserts/dash

So im getting a Victory Red 2SS/RS with black leather interior. For a good while I thought that the acryllic inserts and dash lining would be beige/silverish unless you got the Inferno Orange interior in which case it would of course be orange. BUT, i've seen some pictures of a rally yellow camaro in which the acryllic is yellow. I would LOVE for my inserts and dash lining to be red. Does anyone know exactly how this works? If it turns out that my acryllic inserts are silver, has anyone heard of a possible aftermarket switch you can make?

If I recall correctly, GM is selling different colors of the inserts...

do we know if the ambient lighting color will change with different panels? because a blue light on a red panel is going to be pretty ugly :\

Why would you think something like that will be pretty ugly? It will just match the factory gauges! Sorry, I could not resist.

The white inserts would be cool if you could get the white seats like in the 'vert concept.

Paiting acrylic can be tricky as far as getting it sto stick. And dont matter how well you prime our self, its going to be prone to scratching and wearing out. But the best way would to get it baked if you can even do that. A lot of stuff I would imagine are going to be aftermarket, where it will be cheaper and a lot more choices. By xmas ther will ALOT of choices out there. I would reccomend buying the car and driving it for a while to see what you like and dislike and then seeing what comes out

Talking

I remember reading in the forums that there is gonna be aftermarket inserts in patterns like Carbon Fiber. I think the CF inserts would look killer in a CGM car with the black interior.

I like the looks of the acrylic vs the cloth personally.

If the pieces are painted I think they'll look cheap in person, kinda reminds me of a little ricer Honda with a primer body kit and neon yellow painted accents on the inside. I also hate those vinyl overlays that you see everywhere with the fake carbon fiber look n stuff.

Does anyone have pics of these acrylic pieces? I tried going to that site but I couldn't manage to view interior pics, I think it might have something to do with that I use Firefox.

I read somewhere in these forums that it's a clear piece of acrylic painted on the back side. I'll try to locate the thread.

Exactly my thoughts. Or at least vic red and black which are very popular colors. I mean why orange when you can just get the IOM interior???
