For those at 1100...

First off congrats to all those who were more on the ball than me and got their allocations right away. But, for those of us currently stuck at 1100, any thoughts on what may happen with our orders?

I assume some will be produced, but do you think all dealer allocations will? Will some get bumped to 2013's? Or will they get dropped as 2012's and we'll have to get back in line for 2013's?

I'm just curious as I'm not sure if there is a precidence for this.

My guess and this is totally non qualified is that not all will be built for 2012. It just seems to be getting late in the game to me. The up side is you get the advantage of the new things for 13.

Supposedly they can have the plant only produce ZL1's for a period which would increase the numbers, not sure if they would go that route. I would hope that would work, but I am sure there are other factors.

For those at 1100 up to 2030 or less than the number where the order has already been picked up for production will be in my best guess 2013's according to the verbage that has been released.

March 23rd is my understanding for any ZL1 orders being picked up. If it was not picked up by then, then it will be a 2013. Which is not all bad considering the upgrades. On a some what funny note, start a post to take a 2012 from someone that is crying like a baby that the 2013's are better. You can have thiers and they can have yours. That should stop anybody that is crying.
I would also think that you will be at the front of the line for a 2013.

Well, since fbodfather said dealerships would find out about allocations, I think some at 1100 may still squeeze in

I'll be shocked if any of us at 1100 get picked up for 2012.

I'm at 1102, in my opinion I will not be picked up, which sucks........in the other hand I can save more cash for the 2013, less to finance.

If the Last day for MY2012 ZL1 production is 6/8 and Oshawa starts backup ~April 15, my guess would be approximately around 3600 more produced. But obviously, we'll all find out in the weeks to come. I am also crossing my fingers as well.

I was told last week that GM would be picking my order up AFTER April 1 here in Canada.........with production to start mid April and run till early june....I cant see how I will end up with 2012.....given that the plant also has to make regals, regular camaro coupes, convertibles, cadillacs and do initial impala work........

Now that the problem has been fixed they can start production
of the ZL1's on the fast track. I'm guessing they can
probably make around 75 percent or more of there original
run of MY 2012. Before they start production of the MY 2012
plus there a number of dealers that have ZL1's arriving
to there dealerships unsold at this point. Just need to
spend some time looking for the combination of color
options that would satisfy you.
I'm anxious for my car no doubt, but as long as I get my
car with at least a couple of weeks practice time before
Camerofest I'm good.

I'm guessing once they figure out the TPW's of the 3000 orders they will be able to determine how many 1100's will move up and which ones will fall to 2013.

I for one don't really care as there are pros and cons to both. 2013 Nav and new colors are appealing to me.

No one knows yet... but for sure some sort of blue... I'm guessing that Dusk color since it is already slated to be used. Or possibly Carbon Flash since it has also been in use for the 45th cars. Couldn't use it in 2012 due to #69 being the only one but this is a new YM...

I think they should make 2,012 ZL1's this year. And since I'm sure I was the first to come up with that idea, I'd like to request I get #2012. My order # is QGRB32. Thanks!

I am with you 100%. I believe if GM gave allocations to dealers that could order they should provide all those orders for 2012. People here that are saying no big deal for the ones that did not make it for 2012 they will have a better radio, WHO cares about the new radio? This is for the people that have their built already. I have the same right about having a limited ZL1 like everyone that ordered same time as I did (most people that have theirs already built ordered way after I did). If GM said at the beginning that so many were going to be produced they should produce them and keep their customers happy. I am not a happy camper right now.

LOL @ this special limited edition 2012... and also @ how it's our right to have one. None of us has any clue right now if they will build them all or not. The less they build the more limited the ones that get built are.

Short years have happened other times and it never made them any more valuable. But this is different I'm sure...

I really don't care if I get a 2012 or 2013 as long as it arrives before I have to store it for the winter. But if I don't get one until November, it will be the longest winter of my life...
