SS Emblems

I want to put some SS emblems on the front fender under the Camaro script. I bought a couple of the deck lid Camaro SS emblems, but they look kind of small. I found some Trailblazer SS emblems on Ebay, they are very similar in shape to the Camaro SS emblems, but they are white. One size is 5 1/2x1 5/8 the other is 4x1 1/8. I think the larger one would be good for the sides and the smaller one off center for my Heritage grille. Has anyone used these sizes, and has any one painted them red to match the R/S emblem red color? If you painted emblems red what color and brand paint did you use? Thanks for any help, pics would be nice...

The larger emblems just dont look right to me and the ones i have seen are not the correct script. I have heard of several ways to re-color them ....paint,finger nail polish and using a vinyl overlay. IMO the deck lid "SS" emblems are the perfect size.

Agreed...deck emblems are the perfect size.

Try a paint stirrer. Its about 1", hold it firm against the bottom of "Camaro" and place the top of the emblem agains the other edge of the stirrer. makes a nice straight line.

"Camaro" is about an inch high and the emblem is also an inch high. I think it looks pretty good with a 1"gap. Symmetrical.

I marked each end of "camaro" on the stick and measured the word "Camaro". I then marked the center of the 2 marks. I then measured "SS", divided that number in half and marked that distance on either side of center. I them realigned the stirred so that the edge markings were in line with each side of "Camaro". I then aligned each end of "SS" with each each line that was on either side of dead center. That put the center of "SS" at the center of "Camaro" Does that make sense?

Whatever you do, don't buy non-OEM emblems. They just don't look right. Look on eBay, you can get stock SS emblems (in red) fairly cheap. That's where I got mine.

One poster on here centered his emblem, I thought about that, then decided to offset them.
