Monthly Payments

Hey everyone this is my first post her even though I've read threads here a million times. My lease on my 06 Cobalt LT Coupe is up in 5 1/2 months so Im looking at getting a 2SS/RS (IBM/ABM/CGM), black int., black stripes, and M6. The 2 dealers I spoke to in West Palm Beach, FL (where im finishing up school) are selling over MSRP (one is $5k over another is $10k over.) The $5k over dealer told me $850/month for 60 months with $0 down. Is that little high or is it me? I am starting a job a couple weeks after graduation where I'm eligible for GMS pricing which is cool. I'm just curious what the average Camaro owner is getting interest rate and monthly payment wise. THANKS!

For those car payments go buy a Corvette. We are putting down 7k and bought the a 2SS/RS Auto for 38k out the door. You can get them at MSRP if you keep looking around. My payments are 476 for 77 months but will be paying it off early.

My interest rate is 4.99 with Tier 1. Peoples interest rates will be all over the board depending on there credit.

BTW I graduated from Palm Beach Atlantic... =)

I was just wondering whether to go with a 72 month loan and try to pay it off in 60.

It's a little more per month to do it this way...but if my wife or I get in a pinch (laid off due to this horrific economic climate)...we'd only be "required" to pay the 72 month payment. It would give us a little "breathing room" if we did get into a pinch.

I will be leasing mine... My dealer is just charging me sticker, which is about 32K.
Im putting down 3K and my payments for 48 months is around $450.
I suggest you find a dealer who isnt charging over sticker! its about $30/month for every $1000 bucks you finance....

Whuh? It's not $900/month for a $30,000 car.

I'd say it's more around $20-22 per $1000.

I'm down at Northwood University. Unortunately I'll be leaving WPB in 2 weeks but it's back home to start a real job and stash away money for 6 months to make a downpayment in the 8-10k range. With the GM Supplier pricing that I get from my new job the 2SS I want is roughly $34k with the black stripes and RS package. So if I can do $10k down I'll be at $24k roughly to finance.

That's what I did for my truck, as a "just in case" plan. Ended up being able to pay it off after a year and a half, but still nice to not -have- to plop down such a giant chunk of change every month

To the OP, see if this works:

http://www.capitalone.com/autoloans/...D1_01_T_ALCALC

Loan calculator that you can use to figure out what you'd be paying each month. Hope that helps!

The only thing I'm worried about is since I've never financed a car before I might need a cosigner. My dad has perfect credit but I'm still building mine ( I think I was about 700 last time I checked) so I'll have to see depending on the bank.

So heres a new situation I just thought of, my Cobalt is at 47,800 miles, I have unti 48k before I start paying overage charges per mile (leases suck and i will never lease again.) I was thinking about seeing if a dealership will pick up a few of the payments (like the GM pull a head does) so I can get one earlier (maybe July.) I'm antsy and I've only been on this forum for 3 days!
