I don't think auto dimming is coming. AAC tried, and there was no way to do it and keep it plug and play.

So the real question is when will they be ready to ship?

Second half of August. Was supposed to be July 30th but they ran into unexpected delays. No big deal.

This is not intended to be a scientific analysis, just an example of how the slightly longer mirror along with the aspheric lens helps broaden the peripheral view of these mirrors.

With the factory mirror from the driver seat you can see 6 panels on the garage door behind the car.

With the aspheric mirrors you can see 10 panels, not bad right?

Time for some more mirror photos The techs reinstalled my OEM mirrors because they were worried about water getting inside the holes (we've been having freak rain storms recently). So they are going to install the AAC mirrors on Monday. But anywho, here's some comparison photos. I know the angle of the AAC mirror isn't perfect - forgot my protractor at home

Do those not have LED strips in the front? If they don't, I'll buy those pair!

The LEDs are there, they're just ghost painted.

Oh I see. If no auto-dimming and no heated mirrors, it's kind of a couple of steps backward in my mind. :|

1) These mirrors ARE HEATED and even if you don't have it as a factory option you can use these.

2) I have had the original set of mirrors on my Camaro for close to 2 years now and have driven across the country including the 8 day long Chevrolet Fireball Run Cross-Country Rally and there has not been a SINGLE instance where I would have needed the mirrors to dim. Not sure if its the aspherical characteristics of the glass or the size but there is no glare with these mirrors.

Thanks for the feedback though

*GROUPBUY CHECKOUT INSTRUCTIONS*

Read this ONLY if you have already paid a deposit and are on "The List".

First we want to say congratulations on being on this groupbuy if it was not for the customers willing to show their commitment by placing deposits we would never have committed to building these mirrors. Because of your commitment you have received a discount on the mirrors, discount on the paint, and free ghosting. Because of this NO other coupons or discount codes are allowed. If you use a coupon code when checking out your order will not be processed until your balance is fully paid so please do not delay your order processing by not following this simple guideline.

While you have plenty of time to complete your checkout we do want to point out the orders will ship in the order that balances are paid. This is because when you check out your order will be sent to the painter and will ship as soon as it comes back from paint.

We would also like to point out that we have not yet completed the production run. Once all the pieces are finished production assembly will begin. This is not a fast process so we do not anticipate any orders shipping until the later part of August.

When you checkout you will have the opportunity to select the following:

1) Paint Color
  • None= You will get a raw set of mirrors with no paint.
  • Hydro Carbon Fiber= Carbon Fiber effect (like bumblebee in Transformers 3). Note: the Hydrocarbon effect will be on the top and sides of the mirror but no on the bottom.
  • Paint= Your mirrors will be professionally painted to match your car. The mirrors will be ghost painted for no additional charge.

2) Dual Intensity Circuits= Select Yes or No. If you add Dual Intensity Circuits your LEDs will have the ability to be Parking Lights AND Turn Signals. Please Note: you will need to perform additional wiring to connect these circuits.

We also added as a recommended product our LED Door Light Gobos. Since you will be removing the door panel for the mirror installation this is a great opportunity to install these very cool door lights! You can use a coupon code "DOOR_LITE" to get 25% off these lights.

Now that you have read the instructions you can go to the link here: http://www.automotivelightstore.com/..._preorder.aspx to complete your order

Excellent, thanks Justin. Since the hydrocarbon won't be on the bottom of the mirrors, what will be? Paint or raw material, etc?

Basically the entire headlight it painted a carbon (very dark grey) color then dipped so the bottom will be this same carbon paint color. The only way you would see the bottom is if you were laying down looking up at the mirror

Okay, that perfect and shouldn't be a problem at all. Now, I'm trying to figure out if I should go with all hydrocarbon, or a mixture of almost all hydrocarbon, and then a small amount of white paint on them as well (if we can work that out somehow, or I may have to see about adding that locally after I get the mirrors). I want these new mirrors to look like the design I have on mine currently but with hydrocarbon. So, the mirrors will be all hydrocarbon, and the only portion that would be Summit White and ghosted is all along the small long section where the LED would be. Look at some of my pics of what my mirrors look like now.

Paid. Free shipping would be nice for a 600 dollar order

I noted this in my order, but wanted to make sure, I do not want the LEDs to be functional, so can you please either disable them or have them completely painted over. Thanks!

They will be painted over so just do not connect the LED wires and you are good to go!

To complete our order do we need to put our deposit invoice number in the notes or will it be enough with our name being in the preorder list?
