What are we going to do with that big gap on the SS facia?

What are the current/future SS camaro owners going to do with the big gap on the front of the car? Leave it alone, cut a hole and make it a ram air style, put a scrolling light bar and make it like Kitt in the Knightrider series, or pray Chevy makes a new face for the SS. Just curious.

Leave it alone, although it might be nice if they offered an insert that made it look a little more functional. Or would it be worse to perpetuate the lie?

Not to misdirect the thread but im wondering of people have plans for the lower grille, I seem to remember alot of complaining about how it looks. I would hope aftemarket like RK sport or the like, would come out with a bolt in insert like 99 SS had , any shoppers want to attempt a restyle it should just bolt in though not be a whole new fascia. Id like to see some ideas.

If you're talking about the mail slot, I talked to a tuner that said he going to have a CAI that will utilize that. Making it a functional opening.

Granted I don't know the rules with CAI but I always thought the intake pipe couldn't be directly exposed to the outdoors because of problems that could occur in heavy rain.....

Whats the deal here?

Need a tuner to answer that. All I know is he is a top SEMA tuner. If he wants he can chime in. His Camaro will be on the SEMA tour.

Ummm ... that might be kinda tough as I believe the hood latch is directly behind that "mail slot"

And as for the "rain in the air intake" comment, its usually not a big deal. Alot of vehicles pick up fresh air from outside. A few rain drops dont hurt anything. A considerable amount of water soaking the air filter and getting through to the MAF can make a difference but still, not life altering.
