noisy headers?

headers are making a weird ticking noise? almost sounds like a leak but when I used soap water to find a leak there was no leaks? Is this a normal thing?

That is not normal. Ticking sounds like a head gasket leaking.

I too was bothered by the sound but it is completely normal for headers. A lot of people call this the header tick. It is from the air flow rushing through the headers. I assure you I had mine checked professionally for leaks and none were found. You will hear more of the motor now. It takes getting used to but the headers are going to be louder. Thats just that.

I know the sound you are referring to. If you found no leaks then you are good.

Normal. Well you still could have a pin hole leak, but additional noise including a slight tick is normal. The headers don't hide cc sounds like the stock manifolds do.

Yea headers have what sounds like a ping sound to them to me. You can hear it good by the collectors right befor the HF cats on my SS. Most of the time people with headers do not hear this because the car is so loud. But with my and Borla Touring it has a slight ping sound if you stand next to either door.

Factory manifolds muffle alot of the engine noise through the exhaust with the thicker material, it's a normal sound with the headers, I only hear it slightly when I am outside the car near the doors as mentioned above

It is normal. I hear the sound your talking about when I pull into my garage or when sitting next to another car at the light with my window down. I asked about it and got the same answer that others have already posted here. The exhaust blasting out of the head is going to make a lot more noise hitting that stainless pipe than it did hitting cast iron.

The LSx motors have been long know as the 'Singer sewing machine.'
Noisy valvetrain that becomes more noticable with the addition of headers and cams. Embrace it! Its the sound of performance!
