I would guess under or close to 1000 for 2012. Hopefully they'll put out like 3000 for 2013, but I'm not sure that there would be any solid answers for this yet. Production is going to be mid June for 2013's I believe.

They can produce around 2500 camaros a week. I would think they can make a couple thousand more 2012's before the 2013 model year changeover.

The information that we have was that Chevrolet did a 'Controlled Production' of the 2012 Camaro ZL1. This controlled production was because of the late start and in hopes of not having the vehicle considered a 'Limited Edition Model'

Further details show that only about 200 dealerships in the USA were offered allocation. Of these dealerships, the number of allocations was limited to 1-5 units. If that is all true, the total number of 2012 Camaro ZL1s is going to be less than 1000 units. Has anyone seen a VIN over 1000 yet? Highest I have heard about is #478.

Highest I've seen here is 480, but the 1000 unit production run sounds right.

But the million dollar question is, will GM produce a ZL1 for all of those allocations for MY2012? My dealership has two, 1 is built and I am the second allocation sitting at 1102.

No, I don't think any allocations at 1100 stage will be built as 2012 now. Probably 2013

from what i hae been told though they don't tranfer MY orders so all 2012 orders would be canceled.

So then you would have to re-order. not possitive that is true but what I have read.

Just like with the hold it is all speculation right now until GM says something. If they ramped up ZL-1 production they could fufill the allocation but they may decide not to.

If they do end up canceling 1000+ orders I hope they do something for us like they did for the poeple with the B92 issue.

Were suppose to know more in about 9 days or so as far as the 1100 status MY2102's. The problem on the ZL1's on hold has been fixed now and are being shipped. The ZL1's of 3000 and above should be moving up soon the production ladder. Just have to wait and see how GM decides to handle remaining allocations promised to the dealers. My guess is they will end up producing 969 for MY 2012.

If my order gets cancelled I will be absolutely pissed! I will call GM and demand to talk to some brass! I'd better get one of the first 10 2013's off the line! As you can tell, I'm not a happy camper with all this 2012 speculation going around. Ok rant of the day over....for now..

It's all speculation at this point. As far as I know GM hasn't announced anything saying how many they will or will not build. I would assume if they gave dealers allocations to begin with they have every intention of producing those. Until I hear otherwise from GM, I have no reason to think I won't get a 2012 even though I'm still at 1102. Good news is others orders are moving up in status clearing way for the rest of us.

Completely agree... I think only those who are being told by a dealer that there is a chance they will get one and know that they have no more allocation.

Indeed, and it appears that the TPW dates are early May leaving the remainder of the month for us in the 1100 range (hopefully). I've already talked to my dealer to be safe and they have me listed as first in line for their 2013 allocations should the 2012 not be filled and the allocation rolled over.

From what we have been told, there is no allocation restraints for 2013 which is going to allow the customers the ability to shop for the vehicle and not have to pay any dealer adjusted markup because its a 'rare' car

There is plenty of time for a lot of 1100's to be built....

GM already said they would let dealers know next week. The delay has obviously pushed TPW's back a bit so new scheduling will have to take place. We should know very soon...

How far back can they push? I'm at 3000 and my tpw is May 7.
Anyone at 1100 would have a tpw later than that which is not much time at all till 2013 production.
There is one guy posting that his dealer told him they are building his car in April, and he's still at 1100. I just don'r see it based on my TPW.

They are building 2012's through the first week in June... (June 8th). Who's to say some of the current 1100's won' have TPW's of 7 May also. They can build a ton of ZL1s between May 7th and June 8th. Like I said the dealers will find out for sure next week...

I emailed my dealer last Friday asking if he had heard anything about my order. He said I was still at 1100 and that he had forwarded my email to his regional rep...still no reply.

My dealer called me in when he got his allocation 2 months ago, and I put a couple grand down and the order was put in.........but I was told GM wouldnt pick it up till April 1.......well no luck so far..........looks like I will be getting my coin returned.........since the big kerfuffle with those cars we will be lucky to see 1000 or so hit the street for 2012 and I am out of line now for a 2013.........but hey, there is always brand GT-500

I don't understand comments like this. If the demand is there why wouldn't GM build them??? Everything I heard said this was not going to be a limited edition. Since there is little changing between 2012 and 2013, the 2013's will be full speed ahaed come June...and I assume they will be producing as many 2012's as they can until then.
