My Camaro Arrived Today but with the wrong options!

So, after all this time and the excitement building.....I arrive to see my new red jewel tint Camaro.....I immediately notice it doesn't have the RS package.

I'm so disappointed. The dealer made a mistake. My response: 'Not my problem!' Of course, they apologized, but it doesn't change how much this sucks. So, I have to wait another 6 weeks (hopefully) for the correct order.

UUUUUGGGGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry to hear that... Did you make any changes after you originally ordered?
Because there were incidences of people making changes, and the RS package option was dropping off the order... Happened to me and I caught it, thanks to Camaro Scotty

If you trust that it will get into the system right away. I'm sure your dealer will put it in but will GM accept it quickly.

They may sell your first one for more than you would have paid. I know inventory isn't good for dealers but I bet for the first few months dealers will love it.

They should offer you something off the price, freebees ($500 gas card) something for their stupidity.

Bummer! Big Time!

I only changed the color. I specifically said if changing the color was going to delay delivery, then leave it as it. They assured me it was no problem. Sounds like it may have dropped off the order like others did. Thanks for that info. It still doesn't lend much to the 'total confidence'.

WOW!

I don't know what would be worse, not getting the car you orderd or having it show up damaged.

Either way you're crushed.

Is your dealership going to get an extra allocation since they screwed up?

It's looking like a loooong wait for a great car. Man, this sucks.

I did say I would reorder, but only if they covered certain costs. For whatever reason, they agreed. But the money isn't the point, even though it is nice. It just ruined the excitement of the experience.

You'll probably have your second one in before some of us ever get our first one.

Sorry to hear that. I had my dealer fax me my workbench the day my status went 2000 to check things over. Suggest everyone do this to avoid the same.

Make sure they let you drive around the wrong one until they get your reorder in.

That is EXACTLY what Camaro Scotty was telling us about. I did the same thing (change color) and because CS mentioned it, I checked and sure enough ... RS was dropped. Called my dealer ASAP and got it straightened out.

If it was me ... I think if I had a non RS in front of me right now vs waiting another 6 weeks ... I could settle for the bird in hand. Yah, I'd be bent a little ... but I think after a few days in my new Camaro ... I'd get over it

6 weeks isn't so bad,my dealer is telling folks that he can't order ANY MORE 2010 Camaro's. I have to assume your dealer still has some allocations left to be able to tell you he can get you one in 6 weeks.

Take him upon his offer and play hard ball.

I hope you are wrong also. I haven't had the time to monitor Camaro5 threads like I wish I had. I might have been able to avoid this issue. But I really think the dealer should have also been monitoring the orders more closely.

I do appreciate CamaroScotty's notification so that some members' orders were caught in advance and corrected. (Even if mine was after the fact.)

Its unfortunate but probably true.
One good reason to read this forum often.
Troubles like this can be avoided.
We have so many good people giving us solid information on here.
I cant begin to think where we'd be without input from people like Fbodfather & CamaroScotty not to mention MANY others that have been extremely helpful.
