2011 V6 Smoke on WOT

Hey guys,

Tried to search the forums, and the only reference to smoke I saw was either in the SS or in a turbo application. Apparently everytime I go full throttle acceleration there is smoke coming out of the exhaust.

It's been like that basically since I added the CAI (I think). I can't see the smoke in the rear-view, so it can't be that much, but I have had friends riding behind that say it happens everytime I get on it.

Is this normal with the mods I have? I just added the catch can about 100 miles ago, so I figured it may take some time to burn off the extra carbon from the 19k miles that I didn't have a can. I imagine the tune\CAI also have an effect on making it run richer.

I have always ran 93 in the tank.

Any thoughts\advice would be helpful.

1st off what color smoke?

I'd imagine with your mods and running 93 you are probably running a bit rich, which is not really an issue.

Fairly sure it's black, but I'll check with the friend today to confirm. This implies fuel, which goes along with the running rich theme...

Just find it strange that with the 93 tune it still has that issue. I suppose I need to datalog it and send to Vince\BNR.

I just added your catch can about 100 miles ago, but I will check it. Talked to my Friend and he said the smoke is blue. Which leads to oil burning. Should be fixed by the catch can, unless there is a bad seal somewhere..

A catch can does not help burning oil. If it is blue you have another issue.
