Does the ZL1 hood clear a 2.9 whipple?

Anyone know if the ZL1 hood (including the insert) will clear a 2.9 whipple on an LS3?

ZL1 is larger than SS so s 2.9 Whipple should be just fine

I'd be worried about the STB, too...

This is the only issue holding me back from purchasing the whole ZL1 front end?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

ZL1s just git delivered. Expecting a Whipple already
might be a little early considering there are videos from just today for dynos.

If you're just getting a front clip for your SS, it's been said ZL1's hood is higher than SS/V6, so it should fit fine.

Radz,
I am considering the ZL1 front clip for my SS. The reason im so paranoid is because the angled windows on the insert are almost directly over the highest peak on my whipple. Im sure the hood will fit, its the insert im worried about .

Thanks for your input

Talk to Erick at TORQ as soon as he gets his ZL1 he mentioned putting the Whipple on it!

Just get turbo! HPS could sort you out I'm sure. More torque and power, no hood clearance issues.

I think without a doubt it will fit, because a Whipple 2.9L fits under a stock SS hood perfectly.

I believe mods will be required. My tvs2300 will only fit with modification.

the drain tile on the bottom side of the insert is the issue at hand.

Ugh... Considering the trough that's built into the extractor, that could be a bad thing trimming it... Aren't there aftermarket hoods with non-functional extractors that might work? I'm sure you've looked into it, and prefer ZL1's, hence your post, but I am just throwing that out there in case I thought I've seen a Suncoast out there, but I'm sure one of our Sponsor's have one for you

The bigger 2.9 probably takes up a little of that spacer space I would imahine.

What size is the "proper" upper pulley? Are you basically saying you gotta put it on "kill mode" all the time for it to fit? I.E. youd need a smaller pulley?
