The F430 Spider is actually lighter and quicker then the F430 coupe and that would smoke a bolt on SS (I'm assuming I-H-E maybe a little more) but a 360 isn't as slow as you guys think. It lacks torque but has a huge weight advantage compared to our huge Camaro's and has a low 4 second 0-60 time. It would be a good race between a 360 and a bolt on SS but not much contest with the 430.

F430's, depending on year, can range from 11.6-12.4 in the 1/4 mile while 360's around 12.4-12.9. The lack of torque is very noticeable, however. The trans. makes up for it though.

Not really. It was broke down at the gas station. I wouldn't call that a win. I'd call it a fail. Lol

Buddy, unless cammed , blown, or bottled, many bolt on gen 5s have a hard time doing this, http://www.dragtimes.com/Ferrari--360-Drag-Racing.html. Take note there are also 360 Modena CS stradale, more power, lighter, faster than these spiders.

Do we know WHY it was broke down? Maybe the owner is a jack ass and ran it out of gas... or... maybe it broke down. It's a machine, they break from time to time. There are PLENTY of threads about our precious Camaros dead on the side of the road.

Ferrari 430>>>>>> Camaro. Sorry.

Wait.... You mean my $35,000 bolt on muscle car can't beat a $200,000 Italian sports car?

I thought this thread pretty much answered itself lol.

Most people who drive Ferraris don't know how to drive, or don't want to drive it hard. So most likely you won't race at all. The few Ferraris I've ever seen at the track were doing track days, not drag racing. Drag racing a Ferrari is pointless. I have a good story about one on the street but I can't post it.

Rest assured you have a far better drag racing platform. But you don't have a Ferrari. Nor will beating a Ferrari prove anything lol.

Actually the Camaro (5th gen) is a pretty piss poor drag racing platform. Sorry.

It's just too heavy and once you get it to hook and turn good times, you're spending more time and WAY more money fixing broken stuff. You want a good drag racing platform, buy something else.

I said far better (than a F430). Meaning for $10k you could have a really quick Camaro, or do a clutch replacement in the Ferrari. There are more parts available for the Camaro. Etc.

Edit: actually if you have the F1 gearbox i'm guessing it's about the cost of a new Camaro to refurb lol.

Ok...

Broken axels
Broken spider gears
Broken output shafts
Broken ring/pinion

All of these gets shredded on cars that aren't running crappy stock tires. It isn't because the car is so light, I can tell you that.

That Ferrari you pointed out is a F430 Scuderia so it's irrelevant to this forum, IMO. It's lighter and has about 20 more hp than the base F430. F430's should run around 11.9.

I have raced with many 360's and they are very agile and nimble but,the times that you are showing me are hero times for the 360.They mostly averaging high12's. Also you can beat a 360 with full external bolt-ons.From a dig and roll.

I wouldn't put Lambo doors on anything except, well, a Lambo. It's pure comedy to see someone get out Of any other car with those doors. Pure silliness.
