Woodpeckers..... Really!!!!!!

Ok so we have a wood pecker in love with our car. He constantly lands on, pecks on, and craps on our car!!! I have never seen a woodpecker do this. I know that he is most likely sharpening his beak but its pissin me off!! Any one know of bird deterrents that may work? I have seen people put rubber or plastic snakes in fruit trees to keep birds away so we are tryin to find some and try that. If that dont work anybody know if wood peckers are protected in texas? Im from louisiana and some are there so your not supposed to take care of them in otherways... If you know what i mean. Any suggetions would be great.

I had a female cardinal pecking at our mirrors, and marking them up with the wax from her beak. A Tom Cat rat trap baited with peanut butter took care of the problem, and my neighbors though I was a hero. I doubt the woodpecker would go for peanut butter, try some meal worms from the pet store.

Hang a few pieces of string over the driveway... It should stop all birds from landing near your car. It's what all the condos do in Florida to keep birds away from pool areas.

And in the offshoot chance the Attack Helicopter fails, it is typical to resort to widening the range of your offense...

Using these aircrafts is routine procedure for pesky birds, I really don't know why the OP didn't use them in the first place.

hahahaha this thread is priceless.

but by me there were these random parrots that got free from JFK airport and inhabited random towns. they would sit on car mirrors to look at themselves all day and sh*t all over the dam car....i sat outside watering the grass one day and stood guard and sprayed water at them 3 or 4 times till they gave up....left the car alone for good haha. just crapped on my parents' cars instead hehe

I had one pecking on the house 2 years ago. I tried chasing him away with firecrackers a few times, but he kept coming back. I got some aluminum pie pans, tied them with string and hung them from my deck. The wind blows them around and the woodpeckers don''t like the shiny things. It worked for me, if you can hang something near your car maybe it will work for you.

here's an option: you could switch your auto insurance to State Farm. then you could use the money you'd save to buy a falcon. that will take that pesky woodpecker out for sure. lol

If the entire US military arsenal listed above doesn't work, you can always try the old reliable: Buy a house with a garage?
