Verification of dealer allocation?

If your buying a car from an out of state dealer. Is there a way to verify that have acquired another allocation of MY 2012 ZL1's. Sounds like to me
its pretty much the honour system with no way of checking and knowing for sure if the dealer did or did not receive additional allocations. Perhaps
one of dealers on this forum could shed some light for me on this subject.
I'm sure I'm not alone in regards to this subject.

you could ask that dealer to prove they have allocation to you with screen shots, but no my dealer world / globalconnect systems are connected to my dealership only.

Touchy subject - there was a guide given to
dealers. The dealer can share that if they choose
to. What's difficult to know is where they are in
the process. If a dealer receives an allocation of
3 - how many are already in production (used) and
how many commitments do they have for the
remaining allocation. It's a very difficult situation
for the consumer, and knowing your dealer is the
best option. There are no sites for you to go to
to verify what they tell you -

Sorry, I wish it was easier.

Are you referring to additional 2012 model year ZL1 allocations above and beyond the initial ZL1 allocations released in October 2011, or any remaining of the original 2012 model year ZL1 allocations that are currently slated for 2012 model production by GM?

Thank you Becky I understand what your saying and If i had a crystal ball
back of January 2011 I would have ordered from you directly.
In fact I bet many on this forum would have liked it if you could of had an
allocation of 200 to 300 ZL's for us to order from you.
I don't know whats going to happen with my dealer this week concerning
MY ZL1 if I will be getting one for MY 2012. Are you taking orders for the MY2013 yet?

I am refering to the MY 2012 remaining allocations to be given out. My dealer was suppose to get 6 total originally but has recieved only two so far. My salesman when I gave him my deposite said I was third on the list.
Then the first wave of allocations hit and the stock manager called and said my allocation came in. I said already so fast he said yup your first on the list but we can't order the exposed carbon fiber atm because its on restaint. I said umm I'll pass and wait for your next round of allocations, and I'm still waiting. But I'm getting conflicting info from them, and I placed a $5,000 non refundable deposit for my car. I'm concerned about be treated fairly but have no means of checking if I'm being told things
honestly.
I have never bought a car in this fashion before, I normally just buy them off the lot. So this has been a real learning exp for me.

Isn't it illegal for a non-refundable deposit if they don't deliver? I'd check about that.
If that were the case, I'd say I had 20 allocations and make a slew of money knowing I couldn't fulfill them.

I'm afraid since you passed on whatever allocation you had at first, you may not get any if your dealer doesn't get any in the next round.

I am kind of with you Z4me. I have the second of a "2" allocation dealership. At least I was told they had two allocations. Now they are telling me that even their first order hasn't been picked up. The writing on the wall is starting to become pretty clear for me. But, I am not sure I was even getting the straight scoop from the dealer or just a scoop full of b.s. Wish there was some way of confirming dealership allocations.

I guess I need to get on Becky's list for the 300-500 2013's she will be getting. Ooops...sorry...that's how rumors get start here.

Ok thx Becky, I'm going to wait to see what developes if I get an allocation or not for MY 2012. I can live with a MY 2013 but would like
to have it before camarofest so I can be in the mid atlantic convoy.

You had to place a $5000.00 non-refundable deposit just to get on an allocation list??? What kinda dealer does that ? No way anyone should put down that kinda money with out getting an order number. $500.00 is a deposit to be on a allocation list....$5000.00 is the kinda coin you put down once you order. Man i hope you get your money back if the deal falls through. Good luck.
