Was your 2012 Order pushed to 2013?

I thought I would go ahead and start the thread now. I know a few of you have already been pushed to 2013, including myself, and it sounds like there will be a lot more in the same boat very soon.

So what are your thoughts? Happy, frustrated, down right angry??

Here is/was my build thread:
11/21/2011(1102) Order entered via web.
11/21/2011(1100) Order placed at dealership. Order passed GM edit tables but dealer has not received allocation to place order.
12/13/2011(2030) Order edited or modified.
01/13/2012(2030) Order edited or modified.
01/24/2012(2050) Order changed or modified

Is that what the 2050 means?

The 2050 is basically 1100. So that does NOT mean you will not get a 2012. My dealership called me a few days ago and told me mine had been pushed to a 2013 Model.

According to the information that is available from General Motors, there will be roughly 600 orders which have been placed for 2012 ZL1s that will become 2013 model year ZL1 deliveries.

Not sure how your District Rep's calendar works. When it was announced on 3/29 or 3/30 (not sure of the exact date, but it's somewhere on this forum) by fbodfather that the "hold" was released and that they were shipping those which were made...he said that there would be an announcement in two weeks concerning the rest. Now to me, that sounds more like this week.

Sometimes a sows ear can have a silver lining! The negatives will be probably outdone with positives! If I were in that boat, I'd be optimistic and eager to insure the process includes me. Hope you all end up happier than you otherwise might have been. Shoot, you know there are a lot of those getting cars within two months of 2013's being delivered that won't have the 2013 improvements! Two sides to that coin!

Still at 1102 status as of 12.30pm.Dealer says it will be pushed to a 2013 model. Don't have a whole lot of faith in what he says, he doesn't realize how much info is on this website. May not always be accurate, but it certainly closer than some his stories....

And also for those in this boat--they will end up spending more than they origionally planned to spend...if they still want the car! And also there's the chance that allocation order for being accepted would cause long delays again in receiving the car. Remember--It's NOT FIFO!

I found out yesterday that it looks like mine isn't coming anytime soon. I'm really on the fence about what to do now ,because I don't want to be getting my hot rod just in time to store it for the winter. There are plenty of SS's on lots at pretty good prices but I just don't think I'll be happy with that. I'm just about ready to abort the whole thing. Very frustrated right now.

I went through the same thing with my 2010. Got it just in time to put it to bed for the winter.

They made some pretty nice interior changes to the MY2013 ZL1 though (in-dash NAV and everything), so it may be a blessing in disguise. I know it sucks waiting, but at least in a way you're getting rewarded for it.

To add insult to injury I had a dealership call me just now and tell me they had a client back out and had a 2012 for me. Everything was good, but they were asking more than MSRP.

Motorhead, I am right there with you!
Tysen, I would feel "rewarded" if I did not have to pay more for it.

Pushed to 2013

Just got back from the dealership. The dealer had a print out of all the dealerships in florida showing the original number of allocations, and how many each had received. All the dealerships were shorted by 1-2 cars. they had a new column that was titled, number of 2012 orders to be produced as 2013, and of course all of those that weren't allocated by january were in that column. He wouldn't let me have a copy, but it came from his district manager. So I guess I'll be getting a 2013. He did state that I could have my deposit back if I wanted, but he said that I would be automatically placed in the front of the 2013 line. I guess we'll see how that works out.

I see where you're coming from. I would hope that Chevy wouldn't charge you the price increase from the 2012 to 2013 model, considering the screw up was on their part.

I just called my dealer, and they said they still don't know! However they did say, that if I get bumped to a 2013, that I remain in the same order! So that is good news that I don't have to get back in line... However, there seems to be more info on here than my dealer actually knows!! I'm torn between staying with this dealership, or going elsewhere!!

I don't blame me dealer at all. It's more GM's screwed up allocation system along with the quality hold (which doesn't upset me at all. The cars need to be right before they leave the factory.) If you watch this very site you can see very easily just by who has already gotten their's cars how this game works. What gets me is GM already said that they took more orders for 2012 than they could handle for ZL1 so why didn't they be truthful with us and just say look we can't build you one for 2012, this is when 2013 will start, if you still want one we will hold your spot.

I wouldn't be so upset of this same thing wouldn't have already happened to me with the 2010. I feel like if I buy an SS at this point than they win by still getting a sale meanwhile I'm driving something I didn't really want.

My hopes aren't completely destroyed for having one before the end of summer ,but they are fading fast.

I wouldn't complain for those getting pushed to a 2013. It could be a good thing especially the minor upgrades it'll have. They'll keep tweaking the engine and it'll have more hp then the 2012 model.
