Thumbs up DONT BUY FROM RIO RANCHO CHEVROLET IN POMONA!

Hey guys hope all is well. Let me tell you the issue with Rio Rancho. I been following my car since I ordered it way back in Oct. 14, 2008. I seen my car on link where all cars are destined. I ordered a black SS with RS package, sunroof, body kit and 21 inch wheels. I even got the inferno interior color. Everything came to 44K and change. My credit score was fair at 690 and with 9K down. I was in Texas for a family trip last weekend. I left on the 22nd of April and the car came in on the 23rd. They called me like 30 times. The car was on the showroom floor where they had people opening the doors, sitting down and 4 test drives. Aside from that, I was told I wasn't able to get financed. I was going to pay sticker from the begining. While I was still in Texas for a family reunion, the car was sold. I came back on the 26th and went straight to the dealer. I was told it is hard to get financed now. I still haven't received no letters on rejection nor any answers from the general manager there. The sales people there told me that the car was sold $5000 over sticker. The man was told the car was already ordered for a customer but said he would pay 5K over invoice. And there my friends, went my car I waited 7 months for. Could I do anything about this?

Damn that sucks!

I don't know anything you can do other than file a complaint with GM and the BBB.

Good luck man! Keep us informed on the process. I was wondering which dealership would get greedy first.

GM just lowered its requirements for credit. With that much down, you should have been fine. I can't believe they would turn down an almost 25% down payment from someone with "fair to good" credit. (depending on which scale you look at)

l may be in trouble getting mine if you really couldn't get approved.

Thats the thing, why was i told it would be ok. My income is great but the credit was fair. It's a trip. But i just read that GMAC in approving 620+ scores. So it basicly comes to being greedy. The other thing i was upset, why did they let people sit & test drive it. That really sucks too...

They called you 30 times? Why didn't you answer or call back? What about going to a local bank?

Ouch man. Honestly, that would piss me off the point where I would just get a different brand, and swear off chevy for good.

You should maybe try that 800 number. I am not sure if it would do any good, but it is worth a shot.

You need to post this in the Camaro Price | Ordering | Tracking | Dealers Discussions or the general forum to get more people looking @ your situation. There's someone in this thread here http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=21647 facing a situation similar to yours and because his is in a part of the forum that gets more traffic there's a bunch of people calling and emailing the dealership for him. Also Fbodfather PM'd him about the issue, not sure what came of that though.

The real problem is that they did try several times to get a hold of you and no response. In my construction company, if I called my client 30 times and they didn't call back, I would give up and go on to the next client.
Did you inform them you were going on vacation?

It seems to me that they should have given you the opportunity to resolve the credit issue, if there was a credit issue at all. You should have had the opportunity to put more money down, find a co-signer, find a lender, etc. We don't have all the details but you may have a case, If so, do NOT let the bastards off the hook.

FbodFather can't help with this one since the car has been sold. If they take it back from the person they sold it to (ehich they can't do) they will get sued. Since they sold his car out from under him they should get sued by him. They are really screwed here and are banking on the fact that you wont hire an attorney. I would get an attorney today if you can. A strongly worded letter can do wonders. They have to give you the opprutunity to buy the car. Even if your financing fell through through them you should be allowed reasonable time to setup private financing. Considering you wern't even in town at the time they failed to do this.

Bottom line is you have a string case against this dealer and I would call the DMV, State Attorney General and a lawyer. Letting FBodFather know as well couldn't hurt as I am sure he will be furious when he hears this.

there are MSRP dealers only a few miles away, why pay 5-10k more? Might as well buy a Corvette for that mark up

A 690 score should be fine for financing. You just found a greedy dealer!! Good luck!

Yeah, we need to hear more about these 30 phone calls. If they indeed called you many times and could not get a hold of you, then I really don't know what to tell you. However, it could very well be BS that they were trying to get a hold of you. Were they aware of you going to Texas and did they have all avenues of how to get a hold of you? Email, cellphone.
