I didn't know you had to be "rich" to own a camaro!?

Well this always comes up..."if you have a camaro it means you're rich"...many people have said it to me even people from this forum but I ignored. Well today it aggravated me because I had parked on a meter set to expire at 5:00 and I got to it at 5:02 and what do I see..a parking officer writing up my car! I argued a bit saying that it's just 2 min it's not a big deal and what does the parking enforcer say.."you can afford this ticket since you can afford a camaro!" I looked in disbelief because it is hard times right now and this person doesn't know my situation and 60 dollors is a lot right now and can go towards my gas!! It's just frustrating on how some people are so ignorant and jealous! Anyone had some one say something like that to them?

When I first purchased my car everyone asked did I get help, was it given to me, or I must be rich to be able to afford it. All I did was save up, finagle with the dealer, go at the end of the month, and it was when the dealer's were trying to get the 2011's off the lot.

On a serious note, I have had the comments about how expensive the car is. Mine wasn’t that expensive really, but it looks a lot like the expensive versions of the Camaro. I have the window sticker in my glove box, maybe I should put it back on when I park at expired meters??

Expired is expired.

And yes, any one with a Camaro is rich! Perhaps not financially...

Lol!!!! What does the expensive version of the Camaro look like? Im assuming the only big difference that most (non-Camaro) people would notice between "versions" is that the wheels are different.

If $60 parking ticket mattered that much to you, you shoulda been out filling the meter at 4:59. Tickets suck big time, but it was your own fault, not the meter maid.

The enforcement officer really wasn't concerned with whether you're rich or not...............just someone with a quarter willing to invest it wisely and in a timely fashion.

Whenever somebody asks me "how can you afford such a nice car at such a young age" (21 years old) I just tell them I'm a drug trafficker with an absolutely straight face and that usually stops them from asking any more questions.

People have no respect for other people's privacy, and for some reason assume that the finances of those who they percieve to be "Rich" is somehow public knowledge and they deserve to know. It would be the exact same thing if I asked them why COULDN'T they afford one. But I don't, because only a-holes ask questions like these.

If they think Camaros are expensive, that person needs to look at a price of a new four wheel drive dually....geesh. You can almost get two camaros for one of them!

I think people are just jealous. I know I bust my ass to get my money. I own a car lot and work hard. Well kind of anyhow. LOL I do kind of hate when people say it must be nice and shit like that. The way I see it is anyone can have nice things if they get off their asses and work hard enough.

This is exactly my point. The 1LS and 2SS don’t look that different to the general public, but there is a huge difference in price.
