I don't think that's too bad, at least it's still about cars lol. However, I HATE that stupid "bad idea" t-shirts ad.

The ads on the home page are Google Ads, Camaro5 has no input on what appears there. The ads that appear are different for everyone because they are based on a whole mess of different parameters including what you have been looking at on the internet.

They are also based on your location. I have ads for local car dealers pop up on mine.

OP must have been looking at Toyotas!

Adsense generally picks up YOUR interests and shows ads related to you.

On-line ads are a form of promotion that uses the Internet for the expressed purpose of delivering marketing messages to attract customers. Ad tracking services often track the sites you visit on-line and make targeted marketing efforts. However, to block ads... all you need is a good software firewall that has an ad and cookie blocking capabilities.
On the other hand, these ads (like Google and others) help in part to pay for the website hosting (Camaro5/forum) , server(s) and etc... There are sites that do not rely on such ads. Problem is... money is often needed in the form of donations to maintain and host these sites/forums.

First part of the sentence is true, but the second part isn't entirely true. You CAN go into your Google AdSense control panel and block certain ads from appearing. For example, GM could go into their Google AdSense control panel and block Ford, Toyota, Chrysler, etc from appearing on their site. It's functionality built in for all Google AdSense accounts. That said, though, I think most webmasters with AdSense care enough to go in and do it. I have AdSense on my forum and I've never configured that part either.

So the OP, in other words the ad is by Google and Google has a ton of ads in its library. Depending on what Google has for your browsing history is what determines what shows up. For example I go to realtor.com a lot to drool over larger houses and now I notice a bunch of ads that I see on sites are about getting home mortgages.

Exactly

And I'm tossing in another +1 for google chrome adblock.
I kinda wished they stuck with the cat pics they did on April Fools Day.

Sorry guys, was never looking for a Toyota, so I'm no computer wiz, but since I saw it while using my iPhone for browsing, I can attest that no one has ever browsed for them!

mine keeps showing half naked women. I need to speak to the wife, apparently she's using my computer for other things than "shopping".
