Solo or JBA midpipes?

Hey everyone. I am considering going with high flow cats. (It will be a while before I can afford headers and a tune). I have looked at both of these and see that there is a difference in price. I've seen videos of the Solo cats on here and they sound amazing. What do you all think? Are the Solos worth the extra expense?

I am getting ready to order Solos because they don't require a tune.

My JBA's were great without a tune.

To the OP,

If you have LT headers in plan for the future then buying a HF cat may not be the best course of action as they may not bolt on to your LT headers. I am keeping my stock manifolds on so buying these HF cats isn't that big of a deal to me. You can't go wrong with Solo.

Solo FTMFW No CEL, great quality - of course, a nice set of used JBA's would be cool too hehe Nah, but the no CEL was the big factor for me and truly my best mod (along with the Vararam) to date!

Love my JBA's with the Longtubes except for they are very low with my Pfadt springs and I have to be very carefull not to scrape over bumps. I dont know if any one else has expierenced that

It will likely be a while before I get LT headers. When I do, I know I'll have to change the headers and cats together. I've been looking at ARH's short system to bolt up to my Atak catback. In the meantime I want to open my exhaust up a little more. That's what has me looking at this option for now.

I had the Solo's for a while, later, connected to the Solo Mach XL Cat back exhaust. With the Solo's on the stock exhaust, it sounded great. When I added the cat back, the exhaust note got a little deeper. I never had any CEL problems with the Solo's, as some has reported with the JBA's. It's an easy install, upgrade if you do it yourself.

I eventually upgraded to LT and a tune. Not that much difference in sound, maybe deeper with the LT. But the Solo's HiFlo really make it sound a little meaner with the stock exhaust.

I have the JBA mids! They are great and the price was very nice for the HP gain.

The difference between the JBA's and the Solo's are the anti-fouler plugs that you can get from any autopart store and the $200 price difference. I have the JBA's and bought the anti-foulers and haven't got a CEL in over 5,000 miles with them on..great addition the the car for the money!!

Cost a lot less than Solo Midpipes.

I have a SOLO Mach-X catback, but I did use their 02 extensions (I did not trust ebay) to use along with the install. I love my exhaust note!

I bought some used Solo's from a member and saved some money. The sound is incredible combined with my Pypebombs. I plan on going with long tube headers, high flow cats and a tune when my warranty is up.
