I just got a reply from Group-A and they said that these Scarallo wheels combined with most popular 315 tires will weigh nearly exactly the same as the OEM wheels with 275 tires.

Also, these wheels with 275s weigh the same as the factory 245 front wheel/tire combos...........

Lets see, have to have form and function to approve custom tires, how about 45mm more rubber on the ground with the same total weight........

No, not lighter but much more rubber to the ground as well. Does not sound like some of the weight complaints are based in facts, just opinion.

Nearly exactly. I love oxymorons, lol. Once again they are being sneeky about the wheel weights. How bout they just say how much each wheel weighs? We can look up how much different tires weigh on manufacture websites, no need to give vague comparisons. With the most common tires they weigh almost, exactly, nearly, close to, about the same as, similar to stock.

Also where are you getting 45mm extra? Me thinks your math is off.

Beg your parden, 40mm difference. IF 5mm will get you in a bunch, I suspect a few ounces of tire weight will also. So if they are similiar in weight and I get +40mm of rubber on the ground, works for me.

Tell you what, next time I take a tire/wheel off the front of my car I will weigh one and compare it to an OEM wheel with 245 factory front tire.

Those are the only ones I have mounted up to compare but it would be a fair comparision.

I think they detract from the car. Not compliment it. And they look like poopoo too.

Easier than that, the vendor could just post what the wheels weigh by themselves.

Those wheels look great. Those Scarello's is one of only a handful of wheels I'd put on my car.

I like ciscobees car as well but what's up with the silver, black, and yellow all together? I would do silver and yellow or black and yellow but not all 3.

Tries to stay true to "Bumblebee" from T1 & T2 where the wheels were "silver".

Looked at some "yellow" and "black" wheels but didn't like them.

They work for me!!
Thanks!!

No I didn't mean your wheels ( I promised myself to not comment on those wheels again) I meant your gas cap. It just looked like a kid with a identity issue. No offense so please don't take it that way. I will always love any yellow car!!!

LOL, none taken!!! I've got a "thick" skull so my feathers are not ruffled easily.

Yea, the gas cap on the original Bumblebee is also polished but it's on the rear of the quarter panel. As you can see, it does draw attention to it, whether positive or negative all "attention" is wlecomed!!

I just put mine on last week and love them!!!
My Mileage has not seemed to suffer (tune still coming) but the handling and grip improved dramatically...(unless the road is heavily grooved from trucks)!
Nothing but compliments from people at car shows, restaurants, etc!
No issues with vibration or the balancing...the Vredestein's really handle heavy rain also (Saturday night), I tried to break them loose and they were EXCELLENT!
A great choice!!!

Congrats and good choice. I think the more we talk about these wheels and keep them in view of the public, the more peope will buy them. I do love mine and get a LOAD of compliments as well and I also put the Vredenstein's on the rear end. Moved the factory rears to the front. I went with the Vre's mainly because of cause because I knew they would get a work out after installing my supercharger at first. They have held up very well but they have a much harder tread then some of the more sticky tires. For a ligher milage tire I think they are a decent choice and look dramatic, not for great traction but do better then the factory tires.

You are right, they do very well in standing water on the road with the unique tread design.

Right, but I have serious doubts about Scarallo actually buying the rights to the wheel. Or the name. Or the logo. I've owned a set of these, sold by Group-A. People really didn't trust them in the GTO community.

Are you a Vendor for Scarillo? Do you make any money by suggesting people to buy the same wheels you have on your car on this forum??

You act as if lots of people are going to change their mind, and retract their statements about how cheap and out of place those wheels look on the car.

I'm sorry, you can cut the cookie any way you like, and dump as much sugar as you want to on it while baking it. But those wheels have been on every kind of body-kitted, lambo doored, underglow lit, fully painted and fiberglassed interior civic, mustang, and sentra for the past almost 10 years. You're not going to be swaying too much judgement on the contrary to what you may think, the wheels speak for themselves.

Dont take this personally, I'm not knocking you at all. But there's a difference between wanting an opinion, getting it, and agreeing to disagree, and then trying to impose your personal taste on people who clearly don't agree with it.

I am no shill for Scarallo, as my previous posts in this thread have made clear. However, the assertion that exposure will help sales absolutely true. There's no such thing as bad press. What IS misguided, however, is the fact that you're doing the exact thing you accuse Fiftydriver of doing.

He likes the look of the wheel and would like to see more people buy them. He's not forcing anyone to change their minds. He just likes the idea that more people will be exposed to these wheels and someone might like them. You, on the other hand, are telling him to keep his opinion to himself because you don't agree with it. The arrogance is staggering. Personally, I think simple 5-spokes with a lip look markedly better than half the gaudy, obnoxious, high dollar wheels I see on this board. And I think your wheels look like hammered dogshit. They're too big, too black, the spokes are too chunky, and the pinstripe is so ricey it hurts. The Time Attack stripe CAME from the import world. But if you wanted to get more exposure for them, I certainly wouldn't tell you to shut up because nobody would change their minds about your awful wheels. Seriously, why are you so offended by the idea that a fan of something you don't like would like to promote it so that other people might like it?

What you want to do is kill exposure so that nobody ever sees these wheels and puts them on a Camaro.

I guess maybe I'm old school, but I love the looks of these wheels and I would like to have a set, but I do wish they were lighter. Wheels are the one part that you get a triple win from weight reduction. First, you reduce the overall weight of the car. Second, you reduce rotating weight. I've always heard that a pound of rotating weight is worth four pounds. Third, you reduce unsprung weight, which helps both ride and handling. I always want my wheels to be as light as possible.

Exactly how does one IMPOSE their personal taste on people on a chat forum???? PLEASE. My comments were only ment that I believe the more people actually see these wheels the more people out there will like them, you just do not see them out there much. All you see is the same old same old.

I have nothing to do with Scarallo other then I bought a set of wheels from them. I am a professional, long range precision firearm manufacturer, NOTHING AT ALL to do with the automotive industry other then a passion of mine, as I am sure it is for you. Stop making accusations my friend that are totally unfounded and silly to be honest.

IF you do not like these wheels, stop coming back to pick fights about them. Or am I imposing my will to make you click on this link over and over.......
