Angry Disappointed by promised improvement?

Have you ever been told how great something would look or work in your car and then it turned out to be other than you hoped?

I'll start: my neighbor was raving about this ooh soo fine thing he had for me to put in my car. When he took me over to his house to "drool over it", as he said, it turned out to be an ugly old trannie!

Not my vehicle per se; mine is still stock. I have seen others who have cars with the occasional addition/improvement that leaves me doing a head scratch or two.

I'm usually complimentary for the other person's feelings unless they ask me my personal take. Or sometimes, just say the same thing in a different way:

"That mod is ugly/worthless enough to stop a clock" = "Wow, your craftsmanship can make time stand still!"

Not disapointed by the progress of this thread.
Seriously. Don't take anything I say seriously.

I fire up the willing engine, responding with a roar. Tires spitting gravel I commit my weekly crime.
