45th Anniversary First Detail....pics inside

I've had my Camaro for about two months now, so it was time to give it the Adam's treatment (by hand). As a first time Adam's user I am very impressed with the results! The full detail took about 16 hours to complete start to finish.

Process:

  • Cleaned wheels with Green Wheel Cleaner (0.25 hrs)
  • Cleaned tires and fender wells with All Purpose Cleaner (0.25 hrs)
  • Strip wash with Dawn utilizing two buckets, grit guards, two wash pads, foam gun, sheet rinse and leaf blower dry (1.5 hrs)
  • Clay bar - went through an entire 16 oz. bottle of Detail Spray, glad I had plenty on hand! (4 hrs)
  • Normal wash with Adam's shampoo again utilizing two buckets, grit guards, two wash pads, foam gun, sheet rinse and leaf blower dry (1.5 hrs)
  • Polished with Revive (3.5 hrs)
  • Laid down a coat of Brilliant Glaze - I love how this product goes on and comes off with such ease (2 hrs)
  • Laid down a coat of Buttery Wax (2 hrs)
  • Glazed and waxed red gloss stripes (0.25 hrs)
  • Used SVRT on gray matte stripes, tires and rear diffuser
I was exhausted and sore but when I pulled her out of the garage into the natural light I realized it was all worth it!

holy crap that looks fantastic! My 45th has some porter wash swirls. Will that revive polish get rid of them?

I would say no on the Revive polish removing swirls. By no means is my paint perfect, it does have some minor dealer installed swirls which are evident by looking at the paint at just the right angle under direct sunlight or 1000W halogen lights.

I worked one of these areas pretty good with the Revive and didn't see much improvement which was OK as I was using it as a "paint cleanser" mainly anyways. On this detail I was simply going for protection and a decent level of shine as I am going to buy a Porter Cable and tackle the minor swirls on my fall detail.

looks great! but you took way too much time lol...with experience that will get better though.
glazing by hand should take 45 minutes max
same with waxing...
unless you put multiple coats of each

A PC for the polishing will also help to get those swirls out completely, but did a great job.

Nothing like quality time rubbing on your car.
