For those who cashed their warranty out

I just called to get my warranty cashed out, the guy said they will be sending me a form and it would take about 8 weeks to see the money. How much did you get for your cashout and what warranties did you have and miles/yrs?

I have 27,000 and have had the car 8 months

What? How and why would you do this? And who is sending the cash, and what do they get for it?

I would imagine that of you're modding your car to the point it'd void the warranty anyway, you mind as well cash it out and get some money for it.

Damn, I didn't know this was an option. Mines a 2011 with only 4,000 miles on it. I need to look into this!

Cash out factory warranty or the extended warranty you bought?

I'm not aware of being able to cash out the factory warranty.

you cash out your extended warranty... they prorate it for how many months and miles you have on the car.. I traded in my v6 for a ss and got most of my money back...

This. They are talking about extended warranties. You can't cash out your factory warranty, I tried.

And they all only start when the basic expires so you paid for something that was never really in place. This is why IF you want an extention you buy it just befroe the GM base expires.

They don't give cash for the warranty(unless you paid for the car in full), they will subtract it from the amount that is owed on the car and your payment will not change. I'll let you all know how much I received whenever I find out.

Glad this thread might help some others out.
I think I found out from Caligrove

Did this 4 months after getting the car and it all goes to your loan balance. I got most of it back.
