Sidemarkers not on Warranty?

I purchased my 2010 last year slightly used. I was not gonna purchase it due to it having some mileage on it, but it was the only SS in the city that wasn't Red or Yellow. But they gave me full coverage and extended coverage.

Question is, I called my Service Rep about the cracks and he said even though I bought the vehicle with them on, its not covered under warranty since its actually considered aftermarket part.

I honsetly thought it wasn't aftermarket when I purchased it. I don't even know who's part it might even be to ask if it should be cracking this bad. I noticed it last night while washing my car. I was the car about every 2 weeks or when it needs it. All 4 are cracked just uploaded 2 of them to give an idea of what it looks like. The cracks go about 2-3mm into the markers, if I press gently on the sides it opens up and you can see the inside.

They almost look like the stock ones that have been masked/painted.

That's what I was thinking. If so they should be covered I would think.

Thats what I thought, but the service rep said they were aftermarket. But the AAC ones that I see the light is in the middle and I can't seem to find ones like on my car. I am gonna take it down this weekend and talk to someone little higher up. All 4 Markers have 1-2 cracks and when the light is on you can see the crack.

Maybe they are the showstopper models?

I would pickup somebodys swapouts on C5, mask them off the same and shoot them with a dealer bought spray can of your color costs like 15bucks. They look like they were done that way anyways.

How is that warranty if they were removed to be painted?

Those are showstoppers. I'd put money on it.

This is what it looks like when the light is on.

Guess it might be showstopper and I'm SOL...Dealership said they won't do anything since its aftermarket even thought they were on when I purchased it.

Guess I will look around for something else, because stock ones look ugly.

Get some AAC ones. You won't be disappointed.

I have been thinking of the AAC ones, now that I am looking at Aftermarket stuff. See some on Southwest Speed, just got to convince the wife on spending $250+ on lights....

Those aren't the showstoppers ones. The Showstoppers ones are LEDs. Those appear to be the stock bulb. I'd pop one out and see if it's a GM part.
