It is only $750 to ship a car from Chicago to Cal so I assume cost to you would be similar. If you are seriously interested I'm sure the C5 community could step up and help verify everything for you.

For instance pick a performance shop you both can agree on for inspection and cover the inspection cost. If all passes (and knowing Revo and how lovingly he treated that car I know it will pass), then arrange payment/shipping and enjoy your new car!

Just promise us to keep it away from the salt!
