Perhaps the only constaint is that they don't cost a much as the V-8's, so build the more pricy cars now...maybe before June 1.

My problem with his response is that constraints are one of the only ways for us to know about delays. So my order was accepted into the system even though they had no intention of filling my order any time soon(April 2nd). If they would have said in the beginning that they weren't going to be making V6 M6 until June I would have just ordered a 1SS M6. For me, I like all the options that I can add to the V6 and still keep the price respectable but I would have been just as happy with the 1SS M6 and would have swallowed the extra expense and less features to have the car in a decent amount of time.

Of course, if I'd have ordered a 1SS M6 my car would have been in the first 1000 and would be sitting in Canada/Michigan right now so it's something of a no win situation. At least until the car is delivered!

As of last week, my dealer still says TPW of May 18th. I'm trying to not bug him too often and he knows that I was questioning if that date was still good. So I expected to hear from him this week if it had changed. If I don't hear from him, I will call him on Monday.

My dealer called today to say that my 2LT/RS M6 will be built in the next 2 to 3 weeks. So it looks like (fingers crossed) the hold on the V6 M6 is ending.

Not sure where to post this but a friend of mine who works at a local dealer called me and said he has avis rentals silver 2010 up on a rack right now. Its a v6 with with a manual. It has 33 miles on it and no transmission

Yep sounds like a glitch , cause you just dont loose a tranny in 33 miles.

I believe the glitch is the clutch because this same trans is used in the CTS DI V6ers also

don't those make less HP though? I thought i remembered them having 260... not that 40 HP should break transmission of course, but

I went to the dealer to look at the camaro, the car wasnt a manual. It was the auto. sorry for leading you guys on. I was just repeating what I was told. But it was an avis car with bad auto trans, get this, the dealer cant work on it because there software isnt compatible with the new v6 computer. They are ordering the laptop and software to check the computer. This was the first camaro 2010 I have sat in and I must say, Im giddy!!!!

Not too likely Avis would be renting manual transmission cars, anyway.

Hertz learned a little lesson in the late 1960's after GT-500K's would come back off a weekend rental with scorch marks on the interior where someone had welded in a roll bar for some weekend racing. Not sure if those were autos or sticks, but I have always remembered that story.

The Shelby GT-500K was a Hertz-specific model, thus the "K," not found anywhere else in the model line-up.
