No, thanks...I'll just keep my Camaro

I think I will just keep my Camaro...someone else can have the 40 mpg. This happened at 10 mph.

I appreciate that. Wish I knew how to save pics from emailed items. This was a picture of a Smart car involved in an accident where it was crushed between two big trucks. Since the ambulance was there, I suspect there might have been someone in it.?????

use photobucket. copy the image out of the word doc, open mspaint, shrink canvas size, paste, save to desktop, upload to photobucket, use [img] tags to put it here.

That's one of the camera person's hairy fingers blocking the lens.

:( I really hope no one was in that "smart" car. Maybe the ambulance was there for the truck driver??? <== I know, but we can hope.

I have always said I would not feel safe in a smart car as long as we have highways full of big ole trucks, suvs, or even most cars etc. I think the smart car is OK for MAYBE some city driving or driving around a lot or something. Kind of like a golf cart type of vehicle but better. Only certain applications. Not knocking smart car owners at all, just saying I would not want one of my loved ones in a smart car on the road.

OP, that pic is unreal.

yeah, gotta put yourself in a truck driver's position and think about what you may miss, either a motorcycle or one of these tuna cans.:(

I just don't understand why anyone would want a car so tiny that gets at most 38 mpg, when cars like the Cruze ECO are getting 42 mpg hwy... Cruze ECO has more room, more power, looks a TON better....

Heh, exactly why I scoot by big trucks as quickly as possible on my bike.

According to snopes.com it's a Ford Escape, not a Smart.

Crushed between two big trucks I doubt the Camaro would have faired much better.

Problem is with the Smart Car is that it has no room for a crumple zone. With the structural integrity of the frame smashed by two trucks, the result was obvious......its still pretty gruesome seeing this photo even if it is the 3rd time on C5. I doubt my little Fiesta would have fared much better, but there is a bright side. I paid a lot less for that Fiesta, got more power, room and four seats than the overpriced Fortwo. lol
