Glenn,
Thanks for the feedback. At least I know it is not just me.

Problem is once I have noticed this I cannot not notice it :( Just look the other way on non sunny days I guess.

Yeah I have been trying not to notice it. Luckily I only see it when its in the garage and I am just walking past or staring at it. When i pull it out of the garage its hard to see and I am usually more focused on driving it

I don't like even like yellow Camaros, but the best color for the ZL1 is definately yellow.

My friends have told me the same thing. They wondered if it was a different yellow that was on my 2010 SS. I wish I could put it along side my old Camaro and see if there is a difference.

Hey guys, I am a new member here from NJ, with a question about Yellow. I love this color and am very torn between this and Silver. My deciding factor is as follows: Is the yellow being sold on the ZL-1 much like a bright yellow or is it more of a faded type yellow.

I know I am on a Camaro forum but the best way to make a comparison would be to use to Ford colored yellows as follows, does the color more closely resemble Zinc Yellow which is the "faded" looking one

Example:

OR

Screaming Yellow which is a bright yellow that I like ALOT more.

Example:

Thanks a lot for your help, if it's the latter I think I may be ordering my first yellow car ever!

I will wait for a few more owners to add their opinions, but if everyone agrees in all lighting it looks like the second one. I am game for a '13!

I am looking for a comparison based off those two colors which I know well, and can easily be differentiated. I see some pictures and it is hard to tell, and some say it really pops and others say it looks like they softened it on the ZL-1... Just trying to get some opinions based off of owners who have one....

Also thanks for the warm welcome.... SMH. I also have a 2010 SS.... I just am learning the forum, reading the rules, etc. I have yet to set up my signature/avatar, etc. Try not to assume, you know how that statement goes.

Shandyman 5,
I have seen the yellow on other Camaros and my ZL1 side by side. They are the same color.
This is a tint coat yellow paint job I believe and as such the color does change shade when the lighting source changes. It looks plenty bright to me.

The best way for you to judge is to view the Yellow real time. Photos vary too much to make a decision

Gary.

I have not post here for a while so......

Got together with a few of my "plastic car" friends at VIR a couple of weeks ago ago. The only ZL1 there so it was an object of curiosity for many

The ZL1 handled well around the road race course. We were on the main circuit. Had no issues with over heating (temp in the high 90's). Stock car except I had a little more negative camber 1.3 dialed in.

Great fun!!!

Pappa Joe,
I really like the custom touches you made to your Z!!!

Do you get many Mustangs tail gating your car? With that plate I am sure they see it as a challenge

Hey guys, new here. Just sold my 2011 2SS RS and after a year of waiting got my 2013 ZL1. It's an amazing car. I got the 7" touch screen media center radio but not the carbon hood. They couldn't order that at the time, it's all good though, hoods are easy to change. I believe I have 1 of only 4 or 5 in my state and the only yellow one with black wheels.

deShaneo,

Very nice!
Is the hood insert the one that is painted Ashen Gray?

It's painted black, with a little sparkle. I was a bit disappointed the carbon was not available but it wasn't going to stop me from getting it . I'm thinking the warranty might not last long, I'm ready to get the stage 1 Lingenfelter upgrade to take it to 630hp. $900 seems pretty decent to start whooping up on Lambos.
