COCSD Racers' Run to K1 Speed - Carlsbad

Hey bowtie brothers and sisters! The Corvette Owners Club of San Diego will be holding another Racers' Run to K1 Speed in Carlsbad on Saturday, April 28th.

We'll meet at Bob Stall Chevrolet in La Mesa at 9 am and take a fun, twisty backroads route to K1. Then join us as we hop into the electric karts for a couple of "arrive and drive" sessions. Our goal is to have at least 10 racers, so that we have our own sessions. Think you can beat my club-best lap time of 27.6 seconds? I'm open for a wager or two. There will be at least one female member of our club competing, so this is not a "guys only" event.

After racing, we'll head down to the Corvette Diner and have lunch in the Corvette Clubhouse.

The cost for racing is $20 per session, plus $6 for an annual license, if you don't have one already. If you have a full-face helmet, bring it. Or you can use one of theirs. There is no charge to watch, but what fun is that?

Well it's a couple days before I deploy but I'll see if we can make it. See if someone can make the record breaking run besides Craig.

Now I know I'll have competition! I suspect that Aaron will be pretty fast, too. Where are the rest of the Camaro guys?

Hope you can make it. The rains should be long gone by Saturday.

Where are all of the Camaro cruisers and racers? Travis and Aaron are in for Saturday, with a couple of additional "maybes" who hopefully will be "definites". The rest of you aren't afraid of a few Corvette guys, are you?

The rain will be long gone by Sat. am. The forecast is for a perfect cruising day. The route we take to K1 is full of fun, twisty roads with (mostly) very light traffic. If you have never been to K1 Speed, it is a blast and great road course practice. We will top it all off with lunch at the Corvette Diner.

What he said! Did this a couple months ago and it was a blast. If you are doing the canyon cruise on the 5th of May this is just as good of a route.

Craig, you should post up in the San Diego thread again as well.

Great run this morning. Had about 6 Corvettes and 1 Camaro on the run and then Gunny met us at the cart track. First session was a little bogged down by a person that did not know how to drive but second session was really good. You folks missed a fun cruise in perfect weather and we finished up with lunch at Corvette Diner.

Thanks to Aaron and Travis for joining us. Sorry you missed us Shaun and sorry to hear about your incident. I hope it works out okay.

I'm expecting to have the Miata Club challenge us to a competition at K1. I'm going to try to put them off until after Travis returns, so that we can pull him and Aaron in as ringers.

Thanks for organizing the run Craig. Had a blast as usual.
