Well I was thinking that If the catalytic converters, resonators come out and add headers and a high performance muffler that would open up flow quite a bit?

More of a variant from dyno to dyno, plus others.

That is on the automatic transmission and 400HP is at the crank not the wheels. The manual has 426HP at the crank.

The learning curve on performance accessories for the camaro should be pretty short given the heritage of the LS3 and it looks like we will be spoiled for choice for options on everything from simple bolts ons to superchargers.

It will be great to see how Camaro5 evolves as it goes from folks looking forward to their new cars to sharing information on their experiences on accessories, performance tunes etc - thats where the community should really take off
I agree and that is really what makes internet forums so much fun. Face it, most of us are not into cars just for the vehicles, we're also in it because we enjoy having something in common with so many people and truly enjoy sharing our stories and offering our input on various subjects.

I know I have learned a whole bunch of stuff through the years from people who knew more than I could ever dream of learning by my own trial and error.

This isn't surprising. The CAI and tune on a Mustang GT ups 30+ hp. My buddy got a 50 hp gain from CAI, tune, underdrive pulley, electric water pump and exhaust.

Hopefully all those things will be available for the LS3/L99.

Can anyone give some insight to the hotcam vs high lift rocker option? Do you think the high lift rockers will add anywhere near the power as the cam? It's just such a simpler mod than a cam swap if it's within 20 hp it might not be worth it.

If your going to do a cam, there are much better alternatives to the hotcam. Be it from a pure performance aspect or a pure sleeper aspect. The thing is that if you go with higher ratio rockers you will more than likely have to replace them down the road if you do a cam sway anyways.

However, I would first go intake/exhaust before bothering with a cam....unless your just going for a sleeper cam.

I agree there are much better options than the Hotcam...if you need advice or want to order one let me know...I will hook you up.

That's what I said to myself!!!
I'm sure it'll be more once they "experiment" a little more with this.
Imagine the hp gains with long tube headers and new cat back?!!? YIKESSS!!!
And, that's without even mentioning a cam swap, intake, etc!!!

The rockers are a waste. They cost more than a new camshaft and require new valvesprings. Overall, you're looking at about $1100 for the rockers, and valve springs/retainers. And you might see 10 rwhp. Not worth it. Go with a cam.

pics, and price for the CAI. How is it different than the OEM or more importantly the GMPP CAI?

agreed!! as well as the gm hotcam is a waste also!! the ls3 is nothing brand new. their are tons of better cams out their from supporting vendors that will kill the gm hotcam
