Dripping wet Menzerna polish on my Black Camaro with a PC7424

Just spent all weekend (well, 13 hours!) polishing my 2011 RS. Even after careful waterless washing this winter, I still acquired some swirls that I want to get rid of for the summer. Here's what I did...

Washed with Chemical Guys Citrus Wash And Gloss--used my standard 2 bucket/2 sponge method, along with presoaking with my Foammaster gun. I used a very concentrated wash to strip off the old wax and sealant.

Then clayed the whole car using Meguair's Clay kit ($5.00 at a Kmart store that was closing!)

Menzerna SIP (PO83) and a PC7424---polished the whole car, using a total of 3 orange Lake County pads. This polish was aggressive enough to get rid of about 95% of my swirls.

Menzerna Nano SF4000--I could have stopped with one polish, but this really amped up the gloss. I used white LC pads.

Another CG Citrus wash, to get rid of all the leftover oils from the polish--high concentration again.

Then a coat of Chemical Guys EZ Creme Glaze on a blue pad--1st time I've used a PC7424 to apply...this stuff is amazing!

And finally a coat of Black Fire Wet Diamond sealant to lock everything in. I applied this by hand.

I used all these products after reading online reviews, and I couldn't be happier. All were easy on, easy off.

I really like the first picture...the mirror finish is soooo good that I got a double reflection of out basketball hoop!!

Thanks. It's pretty amazing a complete amateur like me can get these results. I now have enough product and tools to do a dozen cars, at the cost of taking it to a professional detailer. After seeing my car, I've had offers to do others now, so I may come out ahead!!

Menzerna Polishes and BLACKFIRE's sealants not only make it easy for an "amateur like you" (you words) to create that level of shine, but these are the same products that are used by world-famous detailers who prepare cars for the most exclusive car shows in the world, where every drop of shine counts. Great job again!

Your car looks amazing. Love your process and product choices. You're a man who's chasing the perfect shine. Can't wait til I get to give my own a little TLC. The cobblers children go barefoot.

Haha wait til you see the money...

I started as a hobbyist, learned everything I could and now that's my primary source of income. I found I can make in a day what I made in a week at my old job.

I was asked about tire dressing...I used Bondo Restore Black. I love the deep black matte color it leaves, and it lasts for months. A little pricey, but well worth it.

Car looks great. Hey Todd, how does the Blackfire compare to Wolfgangs? I'm currently using Wolfgangs Finish glaze followed by sealant 3.0 and am getting good results. However I am always willing to try new stuff.

Both BLACKFIRE and Wolfgangs are premium products and both have very loyal followings. On most forums the discussion between members is which line is not just better, but the best available.

I am personally partial to BLACKFIRE, but with the sure number of fanatics both brands have there is no correct answer.

BLACKFIRE Wet Diamond All Finish Paint Protection, as well as the other BLACKFIRE sealants (Crystal Seal and Total Polish & Seal) feature the unique BLACKFIRE Wet Diamond Tri-Polymer system. This gives BLACKFIRE products a unique, 3 dimensional shimmer that I personally favor.

Make sure to check out the complete line of BLACKFIRE as there are some unique and innovative products in the line up!

What? How much do you charge for a full detail and what is included?

Ok...I have a problem.

Had some free time so I whipped out the PC and my new found skill and polished up my daughter's 2005 red Honda Civic. It looks as good as a Civic could...I refuse to take any pics of it and post here though!

How do I stop?? Help!! I walk thru parking lots looking at cars thinking "Man, I could polish the sh*t out of that one".

Same story as me, almost. Born in Michigan but moved to Flossmoor IL when I was 10. Just bought a new home (after divorce) in NWI (Dyer) 2 years ago.
