ZL1 Front Wheel Air Deflector part #

Does anyone know the part number for the front wheel air deflector for the ZL1? These are the pieces that fit on the "front" wheel well and direct air away/around the wheel.

I want to put them on my 2013 1LE (I like the look ), but I'm not sure it will look right because the 1LE splitter doesn't end flush with the wheel well (so the air deflector will need to be bent).

Just ordered a set. If you Google the part number a bunch of GM sites come up selling it but I just had to find one that would ship via Canada.

Part # 22757643

Your Z didn't come with the little bit of plastic riding up front of the wheel well shown in this picture?

There is a whole thread full of this very topic. Read this and go yell at your dealer if you bought it new.

No it didn't. I was at the dealership last night and noticed 1 out of the 5 ZL1s didn't have it either. Ironically, it was the one the same color as mine.

Go back. Go get them...they are a part of the ZL1's aerodynamic package...should have been on from the factory - and the dealer should have noticed they were missing.

Just to be clear, there are two little (I call them winglets) that mount in front of each front wheel UNDER the front of the car. Look carefully in the picture in front of the front tire at the BOTTOM of the car.
NOT the leading edge 'mud flaps' in the front wheel well opening.

The 'winglets' are items that the dealer is supposed to install as part of PDI along with removing the front spring spaces. If you see a ZL1 in the lot, it may or may not have already gone through PDI so the winglets may not have been installed yet.

The leading edge 'mud flaps', I have no idea but I would assume THEY should already be on the car.

They are installed at the dealer during it's PDI.

My thoughts, exactly....perhaps we are talking about two completely different things. Thanks for bringing that up HDRDTD...it doesn't make any sense for the air deflectors (forward-facing "mud flaps") to not be there as they are part of the front fascia...

Turns out we were talking about two different things.

I call the "forward mud flaps" air deflectors....and the pieces under the fascia: "air dams". Whoops!

I did my ZL-1 front conversion a bit more complete than most folks and got the fenderwell liners and the vertically mounted little deflectors

I did not know about, but am getting the horizontal "winglets" for in front of the wheels under the car. I'm pretty sure that you have to have the ZL-1 fenderwell liners to install this on a ZL1 conversion though.

For those with ZL-1 conversion front ends on an SS...be aware that it creates some lift without a vented hood and all that skid plate stuff. I'm hoping those under car dams help some before I resort to some hex vents

Not likely. The front lower air dam/spoiler is capturing a LOT of air and blowing it right into the radiator/engine bay for cooling. Those little rubber air dams in front of the tires serve to redirect air around the wide front tires for high-speed stability.

Mr. W..I think we are on the same page..so I'm not sure what the "not likely" means.

Given that I have all that air going in now, and no way to escape..whereas a real ZL-1 is venting the air out after cooling via the hood insert. I'm experiencing some lift (or at least a bit of porpoising) at speeds of 80 or so.....and I do not at this point have the lower deal directing air arount the tire...see my point?

I just purchased a set of winglets for my ZL1 as I had torn the left one by accident. They are around 70 dollars for the pair thru the dealer. Back to the basics. If you want it to work correctly you need the hood also. Here's the video. The only alternative would to run a true fabricated"air dam" but that would scrape on any driveway.

I asked for help finding the part number so I'm not trying to be ungrateful, BUT are you sure this is the part number for the black plastic front wheel air deflectors that are in the picture Mr. Wyndham posted? I typed the part numbers you gave in Parts taxi's website and the item that corresponded to the number didn't look anything like it should .

I took a close look at my 1LE splitter and its not as bad as I thought with regards to being past the wheel well. I might have to make the hole that is at the bottom a slot, but it should be GTG.

"The not likely" was directed towards your wondering out loud if the little rubber air dams underneath would help reduce lift.

All they do is reduce drag resistance against the front tires at speed. They aren't positioned for, or are strong enough to effect lift very much at all. That's what I meant - sorry for not being clear.

If you are experiencing increased lift...I would definitely recommend some sort of a hood vent/heat extractor to alleviate it.

Let's make sure everyone's on the same page...are you looking for what's been circled in BLUE...or YELLOW in the picture below?

And for those reading - the BLUE deflectors are part of the factory build and should be on the car under any circumstances upon delivery.

The YELLOW deflectors are dealer-installed with 2 screws per piece. They are incredibly easy to install if the dealer missed it and left the parts in your trunk...(I had mine on and off a few times for various reasons). But of course - they should have put them on, so feel free to take it back if they're not there, either.

Apparently my wind deflectors were missed during the PDI process. I now have some on order and they will be installed under warranty.

If it's the "winglets" under the bottom of the car in front of the front wheels I believe it is, **Yellow circle above***. At least I sure hope so because I've ordered them and my GM Parts manager verified that that is the winglets under the front to help divert air around the front tires at higher speeds.

Mr. Wyndham...the ones I am looking for are circled in BLUE. I apologize for the confusion. Does anyone know what GM's "official" name is for the two pieces I'm looking for? So now that everyone's on the same page....anyone know the part numbers I'm looking for
