Very Squeaky Driver Seat

I have a very Squeaky driver seat and its very noticable when i dont have my music blarring(isnt often lol). Any time going over bumps small or big it squeaks loud.

Anyone else having this problem? im planning on the dealer having a look at it next oil change.

Mine has been to the shop 3 times for this problem. the passenger seat makes the same noise. The dealer said GM calls it a normal
Characteristic . I think that is BS. I am going for the lemon law. The gas in the tank makes a loud noise also.

Unsure if that last line is sarcasm ... I don't believe so.
Lemon Law for a squeaky seat and noise from gallons of liquid swishing around? Please ....

i get so sick of a dealer always saying,"that's normal".they know it's not normal, they just don't want to fool with it.

Oh i do drive with the music up but this is a pretty loud squeak. Sounds funny but it really should not be even close to making a sound like this unless ive had the car for 10+ years. Ill let them know about it and see what they can do but im not going to go crazy over it. I literally go over any bump and it can be as loud as the music when i have my GF in the car

I have the exact same problem. One of my few complaints about this car. It is embarassing to take someone for a ride in what is supposed to be a very nice car and hear continuous squeaking.

I looked at the site referenced and tried to find the bulletin number, but had no luck. Is the actual bulletin somewhere that it can be read, or do I need to go to the dealer?

I have this problem too and I weigh 125 lbs, so no. I always thought it was the part that the seatbelt locks into that was squeaking though, not the seat itself. In fact, when I pull the seatbelt tighter, it seems to remedy the problem temporarily until it loosens again.

I seem to notice that mine is worse if I have the electric seat raised up any. If it is all the way down it is not as bad. Problem down there is the visibility is worse!

Another member here was complaining about his seat squeaking (I believe he's from AZ or NM...one of those desert states) and all he got was flak for even bringing it up. I believe he said something about wishing he had the cloth seats instead of the squeaky "leather" seats. But anyway, hope guys get it figured out. Nothing worse than a dealer that won't do anything to solve a problem.

Aside from the inconvienence, just keep scheduling appointments and taking it back until they decide to fix it. If nothing else, you will have a dealer documented list of service tickets to reference when you make an official complaint with HQ.

I too get a lot of squeaking. I get it on the driver side. Pretty constant when driving around... any sort of bumps or grooves in the road set it off. (And there are not many "smooth" roads out there.)

It's the SEAT BELT!

BINGO! I believe you are correct. Mine just started doing this the other day... and I noticed it with the stereo ON. So I finished driving to work with it off. Once I enter my parking garage I always unhook my seatbelt and drive to my spot "free". Well the squeeking stopped once I unhooked the belt!

I think a little lube on the belt (female side), and this problem should be gone. I'll follow up and confirm once I do that.

(someone remind me to take the WD-40 out to the garage, next time I go)

No squeeking for me. But your factory warranty should cover it, right?

In all seriousness, those who kinda hint/mention to just deal with it aren't understanding the whole "new car" picture. a brand new car shouldn't be having that kind of issue and if it does, it needs solved quickly.

Mine doesn't make any of the sounds described but i'll keep an ear out for them as I put a few more miles on it.

I agree... but I love the rest of the Camaro so much, I'll over look this. I know exactly what you mean, for a second I got that "WTF is that" attitude. But it's not worth it... to get all frustrated over a very minor 'wear' issue. And if I'm right, I'd rather do it myself.

FYI, just started with me... as I hit 2400 miles. I described it as a ~creaking~

I've been having this problem too. I personally don't like taking one of my cars to ANYONE unless I have to... so for something like I squeaky seat, I'll fix it myself if I can find the source. My seat sounds like a noisy spring or something?? I assume it's the same sound everyone else is referring to.
