Glass cleaner on wheels

Didnt see a thread on this, but my detailer used glass cleaner to get the wheels clean.

I seemed to work really well, but was wondering if it is OK

Some old schoolers will use windex on chrome... but there are much better options for cleaning wheels.

Most window cleaners are alcohol based, so it isn't going to 'harm' the wheels. There are generally much better options.

If you are using a wax, sealant, or dedicated wheel protectant, it is likely that window cleaner will strip this from the wheel completely, leaving it unprotected as well.

Turtle wax ice does a hell of a job for easy cleaning.
A simple wipe and all that ugly hard to wash off grime comes right off.
Cheap Too.

Update: I noticed that the wheels have no were near the usual amount of brake dust. Wonder if it is the glass polish.
